Britt and her Sheep (or Lamb?)

Thursday, April 5, 2012

I know y'all have been going through some Brittlynn withdraws! :) For Kye's first Easter my mom bought him a Lovie . She got him his monkey and we planned on it being his attachment object. It worked! He LOVES Monkey and it is his favorite thing...however we didn't plan on the other attachment objects he has (a blanket, a pillow and another stuffed animal). It was always just Monkey until we took away the paci then he clung to the other things as well. I'm hopeful that since Britt doesn't use the paci on a regular basis that she'll just have one attachment object. Since Monkey was such a hit Mom bought Brittlynn her own Lovie for Christmas. It's a sheep...so we need to decide if we'll call it Sheep or Lamb??? I think Sheep but then she also has a sleep sheep so it can be confusing! Even though the Lovie's are all made from breathable material, I'm not putting her Sheep in the crib with her. Like Kye, I fear that she'll get attached to...

Mr. Artist

Wednesday, April 4, 2012

For Kye's Birthday Mom bought him a new easel. I hear from his teachers at school that he LOVES arts and crafts. I know at home he spends a lot of his time drawing and coloring but I don't have much beyond that for him to do. Since I knew he was getting the easel from Gramma, I put a TON of art supplies on his wishlist from Toys R Us and he got pretty much everything he needs to become a true artist. He was SO excited to do his first painting and, of course, he made it especially for his Gramma.  He did a great job keeping the brushes separated The tall blue line with lots of circles around it is "Gramma" and the yellow circle is the sun! The red in the middle is a "bow" and the bottom part that he's working on is a rainbow Proud of his masterpiece! For a lot of set up and clean up the actual painting portion only took like 15 minutes haha. It was fun though! I'm trying to incorporate more "art time" into his d...

Lakeland Shower for Casey

Sunday March 11th the ladies at Lakeland Church of Christ hosted a shower for Casey. This is the church Zach grew up attending. It's a special place for me as it's where I first really learned about the Lord and became a Christian (well technically I got baptized in a pool at Georgia Bible Camp but it was my home church!). It is a tiny congregation of around 75 people, Zach's parents and grandparents all attend there as well. I knew I for sure wanted to go to that shower so I could revisit Lakeland as well as be there to support Casey! The shower was at 4:00. Our original plan was to go to Lakeland that morning for services then just hang out at Mrs. Charlotte's house that afternoon until the shower then attend night church at Lakeland as well. Great plan...except we forgot it was the day the time switched to Daylight Savings. We were all out of whack and there was no way I wanted everyone's first time meeting Britt to be when she was adjusting to the time change! ...
