The month of April was another crazy one for us. Thankfully life got SO. MUCH. BETTER in May :) During the month of April I had my foot surgery , we were in the scary "unknown" stage of Kye's growth delay stuff , and we were in hardcore potty training mode with Britt. Here are some of the other things Kye had going on this month! Pen Pal: My heart totally MELTED when I checked the mail and saw a letter addressed to Kye from my sweet niece, Julia!!! It was SO THOUGHTFUL! She sent him a super encouraging note including a bible verse for us to read together. Kye was SO excited and was eager to respond to her. He wouldn't even let me help him "write" the letter so I hope she could read "preschooler language" haha He also colored a picture to go with it And asked me to spell her name for him :) And had fun sending it off in the mail! Kye was REALLY into writing and drawing this month. It's always fun to se...
Normally I LOVE blogging. But sometimes I get in a rut. Where I don't really feel like it. Where I'd rather just sit and do nothing . I get in a funk and it can take a bit to get back out of it. I'm trying really hard just to allow myself to feel and go through emotions as they come because when times are harder and we have pain to deal with, it's better to DEAL with it than IGNORE it. Emily's old coping? Denial. Emily's new coping? Dealing. :) Anyways. Today's a funky kinda day. I've been sitting at my computer for an hour now. An hour! And I've checked FB like 1,000 times. And I've scrolled through my drafted blog posts. Scrolled through my recently uploaded IPhoto pics. Scrolled down and read some of the new posts other bloggers have posted. Basically anything to avoid actually blogging myself ;) While doing all that awesome scrolling I came across What I'm Loving Wednesday. I totally didn't realize Jamie was still doing them an...
We live close to a really nice golf course where they hold a pretty legit golf tournament each year. Zach has lived here his entire life but has never been to the tournament...or ANY golf tournament before! I didn't even know that until my sweet friend, Kayla, offered us a couple of tickets for the event! It was SO super nice of her and Zach was THRILLED!!! His dad ended up getting tickets as well and they took Kye out there with them! The event was on Saturday April 27th which also happened to be the same day as our annual neighborhood yard sale. We did not participate in the sale. I grew up with my mom having garage sales all the time but Zach cannot STAND them. He'd rather give our stuff away to family and friends and then just donate to Goodwill and write it off on taxes. I also really enjoy garage sale hunting. Again, more childhood memories ;) My grandfather LOVED garage sales and would go every Friday and Saturday morning. When we would visit we'd always tr...
