When Kye and I went shopping last week I saw a shirt I couldn't resist! It was PERFECT for him to wear to Seth and Crissy's Saturday! Isn't that too cute? And don't worry, even though it was from Gap it was only $4 (Here's a link about how I get free money cards to spend at Gap!)! And I like how it's not Valentine's Dayish so he can wear it again! We weren't able to get many cute pictures of him in it though. He just wasn't in the mood!!! He was just ready to go see the ladies ;) I was pretty excited for him to have time to play with other kids without me being right there. I also liked that there would be three babies there (their friend April was over with her baby girl too) as it's good for Kye to have the experiences playing with lots of kids in a group. When we got back I could tell he had an awesome time! Crissy took several pictures so I could post about his fun night without Mommy and Daddy! He better not be wanting a little sib...
If you didn't see my earlier post, here is a link to the Great Date Experiment that Zach and I are participating in! Since we had free babysitters (post to come!) we went on our Valentine's Date on Saturday. We haven't been on a weekend date in ages! We typically go out on a weeknight just because it's easier for someone to watch Kye for us. We had 5 date cards to follow and couldn't read the next one until we completed the first one. This weeks date was ALL about communication and it was pretty fun! A couple of the things we didn't really do, but for the most part we stuck to it! Our first stop was dinner (yes it was only 4:00 but we ate dinner!) at Sister's Pizza. We LOVE that place and it was cheap which is always a good thing these days. The date card said to let the person behind the counter order for you but we're both pretty picky so we didn't do that part of it. We did follow the rest of the 1st card which had a lot of silly questions to...
ALL day on Friday EVERYONE on Facebook was super pumped for snow in Valdosta. I didn't get my hopes up. Hellllo we live in SOUTH GEORGIA. Snow? Doubtful! We had Robyn, Matt and Lorelai over for dinner (fun as always!) and a couple people sent me text messages and when I checked them they said it was actually snowing! It snowed from about 7:20 until 7:45, so not for long. It obviously didn't stick (which to me makes it not really count) but it was pretty to see the flurries in the sky!!! "can this really be snow?!?" it stuck a little!!! falling from the sky the guys trying to catch it in their mouths little left overs on the clothes! we had to have a turn in it too! Robyn made a "snow ball" haha Was it neat? Yup. Was it worth waking Kye up for? Nope. I'm not afraid that Kye will never see snow, we travel a LOT. We LOVE skiing. We're counting down until he turns two so he can start skiing too! But it was very cool to get to see snow in our Sou...
We've all done it I'm sure (I think?!?). We buy something thinking it's cute at the time then realize it's well...totally NOT cute! I do a LOT of online shopping, especially on Ebay. I search for Kye's size and bid $0.99 on a ton of auctions and see if I end up getting lucky and winning. This has resulted in a TON of cute clothes that I would have NEVER been able to find in Valdosta! This time it wasn't so cute. When I bid on this outfit I thought "cool a vest!" when I came in the mail I thought this outfit screamed "gay" (as my husband would say). I'm obviously NOT having him wear this in public (it's being sold at the used kids sale coming up!) but I had to snap a few pictures so I'd remember Kye's "Oops Outfit!" Have any of YOU put your kid in something you totally regret? C'mon you know it's happened!!!
While Zach was out of town last week (he DROVE to Texas! DROVE!) Kye and I enjoyed running lots of errands. I had $120 worth of New York and Company gift cards that I got for FREE and were burning a hole in my pocket so we went to spend them! I was SO impressed with how well-behaved Kye was. I have learned when shopping together to do ALL my looking in the beginning. I keep him in the stroller and pile up a TON of stuff THEN go try it all on. I let him out of the stroller in the dressing room to play while I model my potential new clothes for him ;) He did great and had a lot of fun! We actually got done shopping (and bought $292 worth of stuff for FREE! Wanna see how? Read my post about it on the new blog !) and got out to the car to realize it was only 4:15. I'd only spent an hour total shopping!!! I thought it was stupid to lug him home just to be hanging out until dinner so we went back into the mall and tried out the new soft indoor playground fo...
