This year Halloween had an interesting start...it was a TERRIBLE day for me haha. I overslept (which never happens) so I was running late to get Kye to school. Zach had driven my car the night before to do something so I was trying to move my drivers seat back up (he has to have it ALL the way back and I have to have it ALL the way forward to reach the pedals haha) while backing out of the garage. I was in a mad dash and wasn't paying full attention...at least until I heard that CRUNCH. Oh jeez. I hit the garage with my passenger side mirror :( Thankfully Halloween happens to be the day before my birthday...so Zach didn't get as upset with me as he probably would have normally. The repair ended up costing us $460. YIKES. Thankfully the day got better! A LOT better too!!! Our town had trick-or-treating starting at 6 so we fed the kids early and Courtney's kids came to go out with us. Last year was Kye's first year trick-or-treating . We went to Aunt Karen's n...
Every year in my family we go around our Thanksgiving table and say what we are thankful for. It's a common tradition for this holiday that I'm sure many of us share. Every year I put a lot of thought into "that moment." As kids we always dreaded our turn around the table. I like to kinda know what I'm going to say in advance. It makes me less nervous to say it out loud if I practice it a couple times in the shower first ;) This year things are different, but I'm sure the tradition will carry on. So I've been thinking of what I will say on my turn . What am I thankful for this year? While thinking about it I realized it's simple. Almost every single thing I am thankful for this Thanksgiving goes back to ONE thing. And that one thing is my husband. I have seen this quote many times and it is SO true. SO much comes from the decision in who we choose as our spouse. I am so, so thankful that I chose Zach. And, especially, that he chose me. ...
I get asked a decent amount of questions about my blog...mostly about Babywise and Christianity. And others about parenting and babies. One question I get asked often is regarding Brittlynn's bath seat! I thought I'd write up a little post on it to share my opinion with everyone and hopefully help those who are interested in it!!! We did not have a bath seat like this one with Kye. I remember Rachael having one and I always thought it was neat but never saw a need. I mean we had one kid. It was pretty easy to bathe him ;) I registered for this bath seat when I got pregnant with Brittlynn because I knew that with two kids bath time would become trickier. We'd need a way to easily contain Brittlynn so we could have our hands free to bathe them both! As you can tell in, this video , Brittlynn LOVES her bath seat ;) Both of my kids started out using The First Years Infant to Toddler Tub with Sling . I personally think it's a great baby tub and even works fine ...
