Kye, You are officially nine years old. You are only a few years away from being a pre-teen. I am not sure if I am completely ready for that. Having Spear around has brought back so many memories of you as a baby. Your first steps. You saying golf over and over. Me singing random songs to you.(I still do that)
My Sweet Kye, Woah. I cannot believe YOU ARE NINE. Nine is the first age I have truly significant memories from my own childhood and it's so mind-blowing to me that my child is now that age. When I was nine my world was rocked by my parents divorcing. I remember how I felt. I remember processing those emotions and having to work through a new family dynamic. It forever shaped my future and left a long lasting mark on my memories of my childhood.
Zach writes a letter to each of our kids on their birthdays :) Here's his letter to Britt! Britt, It is hard to believe you are only 6 years old. It seems like you were born not so long ago but you are so grown for your age. My favorite memory from you this past year is you watching Star Wars. You really loved it way more than I thought you would. I don’t like that Anakin is your favorite character. You are also so amazing at gymnastics. It warms my heart to see you love something and practice so hard to get better.
Each year Zach and I write birthday letters to each of our children. I go through and find all the photos of us alone with the birthday child to include in our letters. I think this will be something each of the kids will truly cherish as they grow up and I love the chance to reflect back on the year and think about my hopes for the year to come!
