Growing up I always loved writing. I had dreams to someday be an author and I have vivid memories of myself sitting in front of our old school Apple computer making up creative stories. I remember when my friend, Rachael, started blogging and I thought it was SUCH a great way to keep track of all of my experiences when I became pregnant with my first baby in August, 2008. So 10 years ago today I started this blog. 10 YEARS guys. That's an entire decade that I've been sharing all of our life moments with you all! :) (Just for fun...here's my VERY first post!) What started as a personal journal of sorts that only a handful of people even knew about, let alone read, has really evolved into so much more. While the blog has grown and changed over the years, I always keep my main purpose for blogging the same as it's always been: a gift for my children to someday have so they can remember all of our family moments together. Along with our personal moments I have loved...
We've all heard the term "sleep like a baby." But as any mom can tell you...baby's most often don't sleep like babies . As a first time new mom parenting can feel overwhelming. I remember feeling SO PREPARED when it came to pregnancy and even labor and delivery but I felt clueless when I got home with my new baby and then had to actually start parenting him.
About a month ago I posted about an AWESOME gift package sent to me from Bumkins and they hosted a giveaway on the blog for some great bibs ( you can read the post here! ). Today they are hosting an even BIGGER giveaway!!! YAY! This was the gift package they sent me...including a super personalized note! While I was excited about the bibs, I was THRILLED about all the awesome BAGS. Think about all the sandwich baggies we use as moms! Even when trying to reuse them they eventually have to be tossed. The "zipper" on them never fully stays closed. They are hard to locate in a diaper bag and they get expensive since you have to keep buying more! Bumkins has an ADORABLE, practical solution with their reusable bag collection! They sent me a set of two small reusable snack bags , two large reusable snack bags , clear travel bags and a wet dry bag. NEVER have I gotten so much use out of a gift sent to me by a company! I LOVE these bags. This is how my purse s...
Recently rePURPOSE contacted me about their ADORABLE accessory line . I was so impressed with their great quality of products but even more so with their mission! They donate 100% of their profit to two different organizations that fight human trafficking. Check out the story behind the brand here! From a personal perspective I know very, very little about human trafficking. I love that rePURPOSE is made up of women who are using their talents ( making awesome headbands and super cool shirts! ) to spread awareness and raise funds to such a worthy cause. I had NO CLUE that there are 27 million slaves in the world today...or that it's the highest number in history . I'm super honored to do my small part in helping spread the world and to host a fun giveaway with RePURPOSE for my readers!!! Their team sent me three super cute headbands! We all know my big ole head doesn't look too great in headbands but I have two little girls who were instantly obsessed with the...
Sometimes we find a brand we LOVE and we become super loyal to it. For me, one such brand has been Bumkins . When it comes to bibs none can compare to theirs. I first got some of their bibs when Kye was just starting with solids. Y'all. That's back in 2009 . I still have ALL of his Bumkins bibs from then and they are ALL still in awesome condition! That's saying a LOT for a bib when your child wears them 3 or more times a day and they get covered in food constantly. These bibs are SEVEN years old and still going strong!!! My absolute favorite thing about Bumkins bibs is that they are machine washable. I wash them every week when I do laundry and simply turn the pocket out and wash then hang them to dry. EASY. I also rinse them under the sink after meals between washings. I even squirt some soap on them if they are really dirty and run them under the faucet then hang to dry and they are dry by the next meal so I can use it again (super quick-drying!). The fit of ...
Back in the day when I could actually become "Facebook Friends" with blog readers (oh the glory days before stalkers and catfishers ) I met Ashley. We've never met in person but I know she's a real person ;) Y'all know I have a passion for supporting people who follow their passions and I have been AMAZED at how her monogram business has exploded . She's SO creative and comes up with THE cutest ideas. Plus everything in her shop is totally reasonably priced and she runs all kinds of great sales and discounts and such from time to time too! When we paid off our van and it made OURS I really wanted something to represent the big achievement. Something to make it mine . Hello monogram! Ashley sent me a cute, simple pink monogram decal that really fit what I was looking for. I finally got my van washed and applied it recently and love it. Sure I'm still totally a "van mom" but at least I own it ;) I also saw on her IG a pictu...
Giveaways are always SO much fun! A friend of a friend recently started up their own business, and y'all know how passionate I am about people who follow their passions :) Guarded Hearts is a clothing company with a powerful mission statement: Check out two of the super cute tops they currently have for sale! I love how trendy they are yet how they also carry a strong message of God's word! I love, love, LOVE my shirt! It's not only cute...it's also mega soft. So often you hear people talk about wearing things that represent themselves or their company. I know I'm always wishing Zach would wear more Aflac shirts when we travel because you never know who you might meet who may end up being a great business connection to have. But isn't our calling as Christians to be a representation of Christ? In all that we do? Guarded Hearts have created a fashionable way to spread God's Word and to be a light in this dark world. I know personally I strugg...
