Today we are celebrating Kye's 9th Birthday! Bless his heart, he had the FLU last week. While he's flu-free he's still really weak and just not wanting to eat too much which is kinda a bummer on your birthday. We're still making sure he feels special on his special day and he had a BLAST yesterday celebrating with his friends at his Star Wars themed birthday party :) Nine years ago today you made me a mom. Your sweet baby rolls may now be replaced by a 6 pack and those teeth you took so long to grow in may be being replaced by adult ones but you are still, and always will be, my baby boy. Typically I post the kids' birthday slideshow on the blog on their actual birthdays...When Mama E went into labor with Spear I felt SO guilty that I hadn't been on the ball about Britt's slideshow for her birthday and that it simply just wasn't close to being finished. Nor would it be finished in time for her special day. Luckily, Britt is so easy going that she didn't mind waiting and we've had fun watching it now that it's finished! The year of 5 was such a huge year of growth for Britt and it's so neat looking back and seeing how much she's changed. She's growing up! There are a LOT more photos in this slideshow than normal because it was just easier to add ALL the pics of Britt through the year rather than sort through them all ;) So proud and thankful to be her Mama! Today Tess is THREE! She is the most chill, easy-going, sweet baby turned toddler now turned big girl! It has been so fun experiencing life through her eyes...her excitement over annals, love of books and her sweet snuggles. She brings us all such joy! I love putting together each of the kid's birthday slideshows and love watching them as they watch the finished products. They always love looking back on their past year and seeing themselves. I take TONS of pictures all the time but the kids rarely see the photos. These slideshows are a great chance for them to enjoy all the "smiles!" they give for my camera all year long! Tomorrow our baby boy turns 8!!! This year it seems like he's truly grown up SO MUCH. He looks so different now than he did even just a year ago and I look back at baby pictures and can't quite remember him being that little. It breaks my heart a bit that I can't remember the way his soft baby hands felt or the way his baby voice sounded. But I'm so thankful for the stage we are in now. I read somewhere that 7 is the "best age of childhood" and while the age of 7 was fantastic, I bet the age of 8 will continue to be just as great with our awesome son. He brings us such joy and pride. He blesses me each and every day as his mama and I'm excited to be celebrating his special day at Disney together tomorrow! I cannot believe our little Britt-Britt is FIVE! I have been in the bed all day with a fever and I feel so sad that I can't make her day more special, but am thankful we celebrated SO BIG at Disney last week! I'm also thankful I got my booty in gear last night and completed her birthday slideshow! I love putting these together for each of our children on their birthdays. Today our sweet, precious Tess is TWO!!! We are in denial mode around our house. Britt's first words this morning when she woke up were "I'm sad that Tess is two, she's supposed to be a BABY" I agree! She holds all of our hearts and we love her so much and love getting to celebrate her all day long!!! Every birthday I put together a slideshow for each child that covers the entire year. Today the baby who made me a mama is SEVEN!!! Whew! I tucked him into bed last night and we talked about the day he was born. Of course I kept it to like 2 sentences..."It was time for you to come out of my belly and we went to the hospital and they said It's a Boy!" was about the gist of it (oh how I wish it was that simple haha). But it's truly so hard to believe that day was seven years ago. I've gotten much more emotional this year than I have in years past and I think it's because Kye has changed SO MUCH this year. I've really seen the transition from little boy to big boy. He has his own interests and is much more interested in time with Daddy than with Mommy. Four years ago today I heard the words I'd wanted to hear my entire life: "It's a girl!" Holding our daughter in my arms I was overfilled with joy and anticipation. Even though she turns four today, it's hard to ever imagine our lives before she was here. Britt brings such spunk, so much laugher, and her own unique spirit to our family and we are beyond blessed to call her ours! We have had an amazing weekend so far celebrating our precious girl! Each year I put together a slideshow for each child on their birthday's that celebrates the year they have had. I love going through all my photos from the year and seeing how they have grown and changed and reliving our favorite moments together. Well...today my sweet little boy is SIX. It has truly been such a blessing to be his mama for these past 6 years and I'm SO excited for all the fun that will continue in the future. I'm sure before we know it he'll be 16 and will totally be mortified that his whole life is on display for so many to see ;) Every year I do a slideshow for each of my kids on their birthdays that includes pictures from their previous year. Tomorrow Britt turns 3! It's crazy hard for me to believe that it's already been three years. I feel like I was just pregnant with her and writing blog posts about "Blitzen!" Each birthday for each of my kids I put together a photo slideshow that includes pictures of them throughout their past year. I play it at their birthday parties and I try to use songs that they enjoy. This year I let Britt decide which three songs I'd use :) I always enjoy putting together these slideshows for my kids...it's so fun to look back at all the great memories we have made! Yesterday was Kye's 5th Birthday...total "Mom Fail" on not having this posted then. Confession? I didn't finish it until last night! Haha! I blame my wonderful week away at Disney ;) The transition from Kye being three to being four was difficult for me...but him turning 5 isn't as difficult. He is READY for 5 and all that it will bring his way and I just truly am so thankful and so blessed. Yes, I wish I could hold him and cuddle him and keep him little forever, but that's not possible so rather than dwell on how quickly time is flying, I'd rather embrace the present and enjoy the fabulous ride! What IS harder for me to believe is that I've been a mom for five years . I mean that's longer than high school. Longer than college. I look at college kids and still think I am close to their phase of life...yet I've been a PARENT for FIVE YEARS! Crazy!!! I truly am so beyond blessed to have my precious family and my sweet...

It is CRAZY to believe that I've been a parent as long as I was in high school. The four years of high school seem just like yesterday and now I have a FOUR YEAR OLD KID!!! Where the HECK has the time gone?!?!?! Today my sweet little baby boy is FOUR. FOUR. Like that is HUGE to me. I think it's a lot harder to accept than going from two to three was for me. Today is my sweet baby girl's FIRST birthday!!! I seriously cannot believe it!!! Every year for Kye's birthday I have put together a video slideshow of pictures throughout the year. I play it at his birthday parties on our tv just to have in the background for something the guests can glance at ;) My computer is LEGIT slow as Christmas...I ordered a new one but wasn't sure if it would get here in time for me to get it all set up, transfer pictures, then put together Britt's slideshow. So I did it on my current computer. I spent 4 straight HOURS one night on it and only got through Britt's first few months of life. This thing has been a true labor of love ;) I know a lot of people have said I shouldn't be so worried about making things fair and equal. I've been stressing to get this video completed and to get Britt's baby book done (I seriously just wish I could write "see blog post..." on each page haha) in time for her birthda...
Every birthday I go through all the pictures I took of Kye throughout that year and put together a slideshow for his party. I think it's a wonderful thing to have playing in the living room. It gives people something to look at while they are eating and mingling. It takes me quite a bit of time to put it together but I always love the finished product! They each run about 20 minutes so it's a great time killer if you're bored ;) This is the first year that Kye actually enjoyed watching the slideshow. I showed it to him before his party and he asked a question about every single picture. Poor Zach got pretty annoyed but I tried to be patient and answer them all ("who is that? what are we doin'? where are we?"). I thought sharing this slideshow with all of you would be a great way to celebrate his birthday today!!! Can't believe he's THREE already...people...
If you're my friend on Facebook then you probably read that I cried when putting Kye to sleep last night. What started my emotional wreckage over my kids birthday was actually watching this video I put together for his party. I like having something for people to watch during the party (helps fill in any boring parts right?) and I think it's neat to look back over the WHOLE year. Wow. Kye has changed so much. You'd think with all the crazy amounts of pictures I take that I'd have at least 1,000 to include on this video...but it's actually under 250.
