Year End Review: 2017

Saturday, March 10, 2018

Growing up I had a really awesome daily journal where I wrote a bit about each day and it had a place to write goals for the coming year as well as look over the past year and kinda summarize it and see if you met the goals you had set for yourself ( It was very similar to this one...I was just thinking it'd be a great gift for the kids. Maybe as a 10th birthday gift? ) When I started blogging I thought it'd be a nice thing to continue the journal here. My blogging purpose has always been first and foremost to have a place to be myself and to create something for my children to have someday in order to remember their lives but also to truly know their mama as a real person and my real thoughts etc on the events in our lives.  I wrote out my goals for 2017 in this post and today I'm going through those goals to see how I did: Make the changes we need to make in our daily lives to best benefit Zach's health. : A lot of this Zach has taken on for  himself  an...

Year End Review: 2016

Tuesday, January 31, 2017

Every year I make a list of goals for the year and then at the end of the year I come back and review those goals to see how I did. I haven't read over my 2016 goals list in a hot minute  so I have a feeling I did pretty sucky with completing the list during the year. I know I have a plethora of excuses as to why I didn't get 'em done and I'm pretty sure the craziness of 2016 will also change the way I make my goals for 2017. Here's a review of my goals for 2016 and how I did with each: Continue to devote the first 30 min of nap time to spending time with God... work on pouring into my Bible during this time. : I did AWESOME with this up until Zach's medical stuff hit and then I struggled with it. It was hard to pour into God's Word even when it's a time when I should have been pouring into it the most. My prayer life still grew, but my study struggled for a bit. I am back on track and working on reading through the entire Bible (no set timeline on...

Year End Review: 2015

Wednesday, February 17, 2016

I love goals and while it may seem like I go a little  overboard with them, I enjoy the chance to look back over my goals for the previous year and see how I did. I also think it's an awesome list to have on the blog each year as I can see areas where I've grown and changed over time! Here are my goals for 2015 and how I did with them: Really focus in on making Jesus my #1 priority each and every day. For my family, for myself...across the board in all areas of life. :  I REALLY worked on this during the year. I started devoting the first 30 min of nap time to reading my devo and praying and I started keeping a prayer journal and have seen SO MUCH growth in my walk with the Lord! Plus I started up a devo with a couple good friends and have just worked on showing Christ's love for me in every area of my life.  Implement family bible time as well as a bible curriculum for Kye:  We did this with Kye by starting nightly devos we print off from...

Year End Review: 2014

Tuesday, February 17, 2015

Every year I make a list of goals for myself. I've done this for years  even long before blogging. I used to enjoy sitting down on Dec 31st and recapping my year and then making my goals for the coming year. This post is VERY much for myself. But I like to have it documented as it's nice to look back and see the areas in which I've grown :) Here are the goals I had for 2014 and how I did at achieving them: Always be mindful of my #1 goal in parenting: Raise children who love the Lord and who show others that Christ lives in them:  I think this is always going to be something I'm striving for as a parent. I won't know how I did on this one until I'm in Heaven someday surrounded by my children :)  Continue in our Dave Ramsey lifestyle and stay focused on our financial goals:  We did AMAZING this year with this! Especially since it was a year when we traveled a ton, welcomed a new baby, and Zach actually had his lowest income year that he's had in several...

Year End Review: 2013

Wednesday, February 19, 2014

I love putting my goals into writing and I love going back over them at the end of each year. It's a great opportunity for personal reflection and it helps me to have a fresh perspective for the coming year. This past year I did a LOT of blogging, but am SO behind. Life happens and we had a good bit of things go on that just put me off from being on track. So I know this isn't technically the end of the year but it's the end of my year of blogging from 2013 so here goes :) This is always a rather long, very personal post. I made a list at the beginning of 2013 of what my goals were for the year and here is how I did at meeting those goals! Be like Christ. In all areas and aspects of my life. Have it so when people think of me, they think of Him  This is one of those things that's hard to judge about yourself. I do think my Christian light has become brighter and more bold over this past year. I pray that I have helped others on their walk and have been an...
