Kye is such a big boy now eating solids in his high chair! We have a nice little routine (shocker) where he nurses, we cuddle (if he's in the mood...), then I put him in his high chair to play while I get his food ready. I make him 1/4 cup of rice cereal (mixed with 1/4 cup of pure water) plus he eats 1/2 of a little tub of the Gerber 1st foods. Yes, he eats THAT much! Since he only gets veges at 2 meals a day (7 am and 11 am), then doesn't eat solids at all at 3, he pigs out at 7 pm! We typically have to give him MORE rice cereal than 1/4 a cup! One night he ate about 3/4 a cup! While he's eating I sign "more" before almost every bite and I sign "all done" when I can tell he's full. You know he's full because he'll a) quit opening his mouth b) start whining c) start misbehaving (making raspberries, putting his hands on the spoon, putting his hands in his mouth. After he's done I wipe him off and give him back the toy. I LOVE this toy!!! ...
Sunday we got up and went to church. Kye did really well as it was the longest time he's been up in church without eating (we have to take him out of church each Sunday to feed him solids and everything!). After church Mr. Rusty and Zach went to play golf and the rest of us went back to the condo. Kye and Payton playing together I didn't go back out to the beach during the day. By the time we all ate lunch and everything there wasn't really time to go down there before I'd have to come back again to shower. I spent most of the time helping Mrs. Charlotte look for Courtney's keys! She lost them somehow on the trip and NEVER found them. They had a locksmith come and get into her car but the keys weren't in it either! They ended up having to spend like $200 to get a key made so they could drive home...very crazy situation and of course Mrs. Charlotte was kinda freakin' out about it a little bit! To help, Mr. Rusty IRONED HIS OWN CLOTHES! I've never, ...
Last year we went to the Parker's condo in Alabama for Labor Day weekend. This year we've added two more babies plus a boyfriend (Mr. Rusty broke his "no boyfriend/girlfriend rule" and let Casey bring hers) and none of us wanted to make the 6 hour drive to Alabama! Luckily, Mrs. Charlotte's brother owns a condo in Panama City so we headed to the beach! We left Friday afternoon and got there in pretty good time. Casey and Jordan were already there as were Mr. Rusty and Mrs. Charlotte. Courtney and Brad had a late start so we had to wait on them but then the guys stayed at the condo to listen to the Lowndes game on the Internet (which never even worked) while us girls went out on the town! Casey and I were ready to PARTY IT UP Panama City Style ;) We ate at this AWESOME restaurant called The Back Porch and I had my second favorite meal of all time (my first favorite is from Cheesecake Factory). It was this shrimp and crap linguine and I seriously ate it all b...
People typically know Babywise as a program to get babies to sleep through the night. I hope that through my blog that people (well the few that read this anyway!) now know that Babywise is SO much more than just about sleeping through the night. One of the best things about having a Babywise Baby is that he not only sleeps wonderfully, but he wakes up happy!!! Here's proof. These were taken when he slept so good for a nap that I had to wake him up (he slept 15 min past his scheduled eating time). He should have been starving right? I mean he was 15 min late for eating and duh my kid loves to eat! Instead when I woke him up I got to experience the sweetest giggles and cutest smiles. And the great thing is? This wasn't a once-in-a-lifetime experience! Kye wakes up happy majority of the time!!! A lot of the time we'll walk in his room to wake him up only to find him already awake just laying there watching his mobile or cuddling with his monkey! If this doesn't make peopl...
As a mother I have to say that I'm amazed at the crazy fast way babies grow up!!! It's only been 6 months but Kye has gone from a baby who just layed there to one who can sit up all by himself and play! The days are gone where mommy was the favorite toy, I've been replaced! Kye LOVES to play with toys and it's so neat to see him have such a fun time. When I'm putting his laundry away it's wonderful that I can put him in the sitting position, hand him a toy, and let him play and not even have to worry about him! I loved these pictures of him playing with his ball so, of course, I had to share :)
