Hunting that perfect Pumpkin

Monday, November 8, 2010

With the way Aflac trips work out (the state trip being 1-2 weeks prior to the national one), I think pumpkins are always going to be tricky figure out. Last year we had the same issue we did this year with deciding when to go get some! I couldn't get over how different Kye looked in his pumpkin patch pics last year compared to this year. I remember we had to prop him up to make him stand then and now we had to chase him down to even capture a shot :) This year we decided to go on a Sunday night between churches to get the pumpkins (it was the week prior to our cruise trip) but wouldn't carve them until the day before we left for the cruise. We went up to Park Avenue Methodist Church which is the same place we went last year...it's nice but not the prettiest location for pictures. Anyone suggest other places for me to check out next fall??? Lucky for me I had Robyn's camera on hand (I borrowed it to download pictures from the beach...which I'll post soon) ...

Cabinets and Counter-tops

Friday, November 5, 2010

On Friday, Oct 15th, the day I was most nervous about had arrived! We had to be at the cabinet and counter-top place at 7:30 in the morning so Kye spent the night with Big Papa and G-Mama the night before to make our morning a little smoother. When we got to the cabinet place (Brigman and Brigman out of Hahira) we were immediately made to feel at home. They were SO nice and SO understanding when I told them I was clueless about this kind of thing. Zach and I really didn't know where to begin and we had a TOUGH time. Both of us just keep picturing the kitchen my dad and Audrey have (white wood cabinets, dark counters) and that's not practical. With, hopefully, four children white would be IMPOSSIBLE to keep clean. Even though neither Zach or I really like the look of wood...we were pretty much stuck choosing some. Zach had an Aflac appointment (actually a potential group Mom got! yay!) so he left me alone for an hour or so and it helped me. I actually did better on my own ...

Corn Maze Fun

Thursday, November 4, 2010

Robyn had off of school on the first Monday after the big move so we decided to take the kids to the corn maze (that playgroup thing I'm a member of was going so we got a great deal!). While life was in overdrive with the new house stuff gearing up and helping Mom settle in, I'm still glad I took the time out to hang out with a good friend and to give Kye some much needed fun! Kye and Lorelai enjoying the hay barrels my big boy! check out Kye pumping those arms while I'm going for the Pippy Long-stalking look...you know you love it (btw I'm wearing the la cocoa broach necklace along with the jet faceted necklace ) This slide was pretty lame but the kids make it look rather fun! well...at least Lorelai made it look fun ;) It was Kye's first time EVER in a bounce house and he LOVED it He could have just stayed there all day Thanks Robyn for these awesome shots of me having to go in after my kid a smile that secretly is saying "let go of the ropes and go out...
