After the appliance place I had to drive out to Nashville to meet with the flooring lady. By that point I was pretty much over it all and I basically told her my same spill about staying within budget, showed her our cabinets, counters, and colors, then let her decide on everything. I really have surprised myself with this house building situation. I'm not as much as a girl as I thought I was! I really, honestly, don't enjoy these decisions. I worry that I'll pick something then hate it later so I feel more confident letting the "experts" decide b/c that way I won't second guess things and worry if other people think it looks good. If an expert chose it then duh it looks good right? The only main thing I wanted in flooring was stuff that won't show dirt! I like to be able to wipe down the counters and spray from fabreeze if we have an unexpected guest and I need my floors to always look clean even if they aren't. I'm not saying I don't clean...
After picking out lighting I had to hurry and leave the house so I could meet up with the appliance guy (we're using Green Appliances out of Valdosta). He had a costumer in his office so I ended up waiting quite awhile before he could get with me but it all worked out fine. I figured it was going to be the easiest of my choices for the day, and I was right, although it did take more effort than I expected it to! Again, I was pretty much down for whatever was included at Steve's cost. The house we're in now is a spec house and I've liked all our appliances so I figured something similar to them would all be just as great in the new house. One of the most important things to me in the new house is lighting. I really, really like the lighting we have in our current house (Mom's house...our old house...you know what I mean). It was the lighting that gave the whole house the modern feel and helped us when deciding how to decorate ;) I want to make sure the new house gives off a similar vibe. A lot of stuff in the house I'm okay with going the cheapest on...I mean people really don't notice half this stuff! Robyn got hooked up with some free tickets to the circus and she invited Kye and I to come along! I have great memories of going to the circus with Mom and Brandon as a kid but it was in a huge arena in Atlanta and was put on by Ringling Brothers Circus. This circus was in Valdosta in the parking lot of a Big Lots...so I was pretty curious to see what it'd be all about! I think Robyn and I were both going because we wanted our kids to have fun but also because we were pumped to see how a circus could possibly take place in a parking lot. Haha!
