Clover's last shower!

Monday, February 9, 2009

Sunday was my last baby shower! Kind of sad that they are all over. Since you really only get one or two small showers for the babies after the first one, this was the last shower I'll have for a loooong time! Here is am about to grub out...there was some good food! Even got me an ice cream cake...yum! Courtney and Casey had hosting duties along with Zach's Aunt Cheryl. They had the shower at Mrs. Charlotte's house in-between church services. It was really nice of them to do that for me and I'm looking forward to being able to repay the favor for Courtney before baby Payton arrives! I'm so so glad Katie and Ashley were able to come to my last shower as well! They made the whole thing extra fun :) We ate and played a couple games. One was a baby word search and we competed to see who could finish it the quickest (it was hard as crap). The other game we played was the one from The Girl's Next Door on E! where they melt candy bars inside diapers and we had to g...

Much Needed Girl Time!

Danielle, Chelsi and I have known each other since pretty much forever! I am pretty sure Danielle and I met in 5th grade? And Chelsi I think was 7th grade! While we've known each other for a long time we didn't become good friends until High School. Since we got close, Danielle has been one of my best friends. She is one of the few people who truly "get" me and that I can talk with for hours and hours and hours without running out of things to say. Even though we both live extremely busy lives and don't get to talk often we both know we have the other one and that alone is comforting sometimes! Usually when Zach and I find our way going through Atlanta we will stop and spend a night with her at her parent's house (they are two of the nicest people EVER!). Those nights are times where we stay up super late talking and catching up. Even though I may be exhausted the next day I always feel so refreshed. It's like being around her recharges me and keeps me g...

33 days!!!

Saturday, February 7, 2009

My lucky number is 33 so when I noticed we have 33 days left until Clover's due date I had to get a little excited!!!! It's getting sooooo close! I can't wait to be a mommy, for Zach to be a daddy and to hold my baby in my arms. Plus I'm getting pretty pumped to see if we'll get to use our girl name or our boy name :)

5 Years Together

Friday, February 6, 2009

Five Years Together Yesterday Zach and I had been together for officially 5 years! When we got married we agreed to not buy gifts for the "dating anniversary" anymore and just go to dinner and get cards. Lately I've been really wanting some Red Lobster and I have a couple gift cards that my cousin Jonathan gave me. So Zach mentioned that we'd go there to celebrate our mini-anniversary. I was a little disappointed just because Red Lobster isn't exactly the most romantic place around town haha. On top of that Zach kept making little comments about how this really isn't a big deal and we shouldn't be making such a big to-do about it. During the day yesterday I set myself up to be happy with Red Lobster. Right now we're REALLY tight on money so I understood the need to use a gift card to eat and I made my peace with it that I'd be happy either way! Well Zach told me to dress up night (which at this point means a cotton black maternity dress...made ...

Tummy Pictures

Wednesday, February 4, 2009

For those of you who don't yet know, I'm a little "crazy." When I found out I was pregnant I really wanted to have someone in the delivery room with us to capture all the special moments through the lens of a camera! For as long as I can remember I've been obsessed with taking pictures of everything so I can remember it all and duh I want to remember all the moments of giving birth (well more the after giving birth part) of our first baby. I know I won't be able to take the pictures (duh again) and I know Zach will be WAY too emotional to do it (and would I want to risk being mad at him later for him missing something? no!). So we started hunting for the perfect person to do it for us! I originally thought of Javon, our wedding photographer. Not only is he an AWESOME photographer but we love him and he loves us so I thought he'd be willing to do it. But Zach, understandably, didn't really feel comfortable with a guy being in on such an intimate event...
