Flashback Friday: Six Flags

Friday, June 28, 2013

Writing my posts about our recent Disney trip got me thinking about my hatred of roller coasters. I'm SUPER lame when it comes to theme parks. I admit it, I accept it, and I'm okay with it. I don't like pretty much any rides that are made for adults. Nothing fast. Nothing upside down. Nothing that causes motion sickness. Nothing in a cramped space. And NOTHING is gonna change that either! I've had people in the past "force" me to ride stuff and I didn't enjoy it, ended up getting sick, and it ruined my time. Instead? I just ask people not to bug me about it and tell them I'm HAPPY to wait in lines with them, hold their stuff, and take their pictures :) And it's true, I really am! This inspired me to do a little Flashback Friday post :) Since I'm not a roller coaster person, it's DUMB for me to go to amusement parks. It's a total waste of money! I don't mind going with people, but it's just silly to spend like $50 when I...

School Year Review Day

Thursday, June 27, 2013

During Kye's last week of school his class hosted a day for all the parents to come and see what they have been doing during this year. I know Kye LOVES to sing so I was looking forward to seeing his class perform their little learning songs :) It was at 10:30 so I just woke Britt up early from nap to go and took her with me. I was expecting her to be wild and tough to manage b/c that child never stops moving! However, she did awesome! She sat so still and really paid attention well. She even went tee-tee in the class potty :) It's such a blessing that she's getting to an easier age to go and do things together! First they did the pledge of allegiance as well as the Christian pledge? I have never heard of a Christian flag or pledge until Kye started going to school here...is that something that is commonly used?!?! Of course Kye stood next to THE tallest kid in the class so he looked super short haha. Here's a video of both pledges. I love how seriously Kye...

Colt and Payton's Birthday Party!

Wednesday, June 26, 2013

Colt and Payton's birthdays are both in May (they are only 11 months apart in age!!!). Every year Courtney has a separate party for each of them. It's always great, but I can't IMAGINE planning two parties for kids so close in age all in the same month! Kinda crazy right?!?!?  This year BOTH Colt and Payton really, really are into horses/cowboy/cowgirl themes. We have a local horse ranch that hosts birthday parties and allows for as many guests as you want to bring. It was SUCH a great idea to have a combo party for them. They are young enough where they still have similar interests and friends and it allowed them to have a bigger event for their party than they would have had if they did them separately. I was hardcore team "co-party" haha It also meant less work for Courtney which was a big benefit for sure! We had our Mother's Day celebration for Mrs. Charlotte that morning then the party was after naps. When the kids woke up it was DOWN...
