Back to school is an exciting time for teachers, students and parents alike. Each year brings with it a chance for a fresh start. A new beginning, a clean slate. As parents we want the absolute best for our children. We want them to have the opportunity to learn and succeed in their classrooms while having fun and making friends at the same time. So often in today's world teachers get a lot of flack. Parents are quick to come to their child's defense when issues arise rather than give the teacher the benefit of the doubt or trust that the teacher isn't the "enemy" and is instead trying to do their best to help all their students succeed. Most of the time teachers are meeting 20-30 new students at the start of each school year. Again, a clean slate. Sure, they may have heard whispers or rumors about some of the children, particularly if related to their academic performance or prior discipline record, but for the most part teachers don't know their upcoming...

This year Tess's school switched things up and I'm not even mad about it ;) Usually they have Donuts with Dads in Sept and Muffins with Mom in the spring. We were at Disney one year when Kye had his so we missed it and I was in Cali one year when Britt had hers and missed it. So I was super thankful to have Tess's this year in Sept! We wore matching outfits which she was SO PUMPED about! Kye took some pics for us before school that morning. I hate they turned out grainy (big camera...small kid...hard to zoom ha!) but love them overall! The Muffins with Mom kicked off with the kids singing "you are my sunshine" which was ADORABLE (And YES Carter is in Tess's class!
