It is such a great thing being a third time parent. When Kye was born I discharged from the hospital right at 24 hours after birth. We went home at 7pm. And we forgot to fill my prescription for my ibprophen (yes, it was a HORRIBLE first night). When Britt was born I stayed in the hospital for the full 48 hours. We went home right after Kye's nap and after Britt ate. We filled my prescription on the way home from the hospital. With Tess I knew I was going to also stay the full 48 hours and, again, wanted to wait to leave until the kids were up from naps and could come up to the hospital. I made sure to start the discharge process early that day and I had a SUPER smart idea to ask for my prescription for the ibuprofen early . It was already filled and picked up prior to me even leaving the hospital :) Live and learn! In-between visitors and nursing sessions on our 3rd day at the hospital I got everything all packed up and ready for us to head out! A nursery nurs...

I have SO many people comment about how I have a photographer in the delivery room for my babies. I know it's not a super common practice and isn't something that many (most?) women would be comfortable with. I am SO thankful for all the awesome pictures I've had with each birth but I also "get it" why a lot of mamas wouldn't want someone in the room during such a private event...especially someone photographing  it! Lindsay was planning to be my delivery room photographer this time around but when it didn't work out (her plane literally  landed just a couple hours after Tess was born!) she had a GREAT idea! She came to visit us at the hospital and created a new kind of photo session called The First 48. It's where she will come to the hospital after the baby is born and take photos during those first days of life.  It's SUCH a great idea for a photo session!
