Using What To Expect The Toddler Years here is where Tess is compared to the norm at her age! She turned 23 months old on June 30th :) She's wearing one of my old dresses for these pics. It's a little short on her but ohmygoodness  isn't it CUTE?!?! I love it! I wish I had a pic of me wearing it but I don't! Tess can do everything a 23 month old  should be able to do  including kick a ball (it's the only thing on the list). She can also do everything a child her age  will probably be able to do  including: combine words identify 6 body parts by naming use 50+ single words Tess can also do the one thing a toddler her age  may possibly be able  to do which is put on an article of clothing (she helps put on her shirts, can put on her own shoes, and attempts to do her own panties) She can also do everything a 23 month olf  may even be able to do  including: identify 4 items in a picture by naming use prepositions ...

Tess is 20 Months Old!

Tess turned 20 months old on March 31st! As usual I'm using What to Expect the Toddler Years to look at where Tess compares with other toddlers her age. I'm SUPER pumped about the pics for this post! My mom not only kept a TON of my toys and clothes from childhood...but she also took a TON of pics of me wearing the clothes. I LOVE doing recreation pictures with the girls! I feel bad I didn't see this stuff when Britt was the size where I could have taken some of her. It's been a good lesson to me b/c I'm SO thankful Mom kept so much, but I think she also kept too  much. I'm hoping I can limit what I keep of my kids stuff to just 1-2 special outfits in each size. We'll see though b/c I tend to get pretty sentimental about stuff ;) How did our parents get us in and out of these things? SO MANY BUTTONS! At 20 months old  Tess can do all the things a toddler her age  should be able to do  including: use an object in imitation use a spoon/...

Tess is 19 Months Old

Tess turned 19 months old on "Feb 31st" :) Using What to Expect the Toddler Years here is where Tess is in her development in comparison for the "norm" at her age: Tess can do all the things a child her age  should be able to do . The book says that by the end of this month it's important that a toddler is able to do ALL the previous "should be able to dos" from other months. If not then it's time to mention it to your child's pediatrician. At 19 months old Tess is able to do everything a toddler her age  will probably be able to do  including: "feed" a doll use 6 words walk 6 steps Tess can also do everything a 19 month old  may possibly be able to do  including: build a tower of four cubes identify two pictures by pointing She can also do everything a toddler her age  may even be able to do  including: name 6 body parts wash and dry hands You can look at Britt's 19th month here and Kye...

Tess is 17 Months Old!

Tess turned 17 months old on Dec 31st! We took SO many pics this month with Christmas and everything that I thought it'd be good just to use her solo pics from our session earlier in the month with Captured by Colson ! You can view all the images from that session here :)  As usual I'm using What to Expect the Toddler Years  to see where Tess falls among the "norm" for her age! Tess is able to do all the things a 17 month old  should be able  to do including: use two words drink from a cup (she is my best "drinker" of all three kids and enjoys drinking from a straw, a regular water bottle, and even our glasses) She is also able to do the only thing it says a toddler her age  will probably be able  to do which is: build a tower of two cubes Tess can do all three things a toddler her age  may possibly be able to do  including: walk up steps (she's sneaky and quiet and MAN we gotta always make sure our baby gate i...
