Early on in my pregnancy sweet Robyn offered to host a baby shower for me! I'm a BIG believer in having a baby shower for every pregnancy. I know with your first you have SEVERAL and get a TON of stuff and many people think you shouldn't need stuff for your other babies since you got "it all" with the first one. Um no. You do still need stuff!!! And it's not just about the gifts, it's about honoring the baby too!!! I have hosted several showers for second babies and plan to do it for friends and family with third, fourth, and even fifth babies! I really appreciated Robyn hosting the shower for me (on Sat Oct 22nd) and we made it a friends shower since Courtney and Casey also offered to host one and I invited family to theirs. Robyn did an AWESOME job playing hostess! Check out the mega pretty diaper cake she made :) I love tissue pom-poms The food! Crissy and Ashley T helped host as well and I could tell right away that Crissy hooked me up wi...
This morning I had my first weekly check-up. I got back SUPER quick which was wonderful! I met Marie for the first time and she was very nice and pretty funny too. Blitzen's heart rate was in the 130's-140's like normal. She said my blood work from my legs came back fine, I don't have any type of deficiencies or anything. My blood pressure and everything looked good. I asked her about my prenatal vitamins b/c for some reason they asked me at my last visit if I was taking a DHA supplement and that made me nervous that my vitamins don't have it, but she looked it up and they do. She did a swab "down there" to check for something and then she told me she was going to check me to see how things are coming along. Since I just read over my 36 week appointment from last pregnancy I was expecting a lot of discomfort. Instead of having me put my feet in the stirrups though she told me to put my ankles together and spread my knees. Then she did the check while s...
Tuesday was our last day to enjoy Hawaii and we started the morning with breakfast and hearing Mr. and Mrs. Tuohy speak. I was the most excited for that day because it was a day of just the two of us together, exploring Hawaii on our own! I made Zach take a picture in front of the elevator so I'd remember to blog about it. Omg. Most annoying elevator EVER! You type in your floor outside the elevator then it tells you which elevator you'll be riding on. It wouldn't have been that bad except that they decided to work on TWO of the four elevators while we were there so they weren't in service! They opened up the service elevators for us to use but there were still a lot of elevator issues. We were actually glad we were on the top floor because it meant that by the time the elevator reached us it was empty. All the floors below us would get stuck because the elevator would come to pick them up and it'd be too full already. On check out day Mr. Rusty and Mrs. Charl...
Well, I thought at 36 weeks you were considered full term? Didn't you? My weekly pregnancy update email says that 37 weeks is actually full term! Which ever is fine with me...Blitzen cannot be born this week anyway :) Baby Growth: Blitzen is almost 6 pounds (the weight of a crenshaw melon) and is more than 18 1/2 inches long. I can tell you that Blitzen is laying exactly the way this baby is in this picture. I feel those little feet, knees and tush on the regular! Belly Pictures: Now that it's rare to have Zach here to take my pictures...I took full advantage of it and took PLENTY for ya'll! Plus I know that a lot of you are waiting to put in your guesses for the Blitzen Baby Pool and some people swear they can tell sex by how a woman is carrying. Hopefully these help you some ;) Along with my belly stickers I'm also wearing my Stella and Dot La Coco Silver Chain , after the rain brooch , and ava cupchain earrings (great gift at only $24!). ...
Raise your hand if you haven't seen The Blind Side??? Yeah, that's what I thought! Who hasn't seen it?!?! One of our favorite parts of each Aflac National Convention is listening to the guest speakers at The Prayer Breakfast. How amazing is our company that they have an entire morning devoted to the topic of GOD? How many companies honestly do that now-a-days? Yeah, none. We've heard Kirk Cameron , Mike Huckabee , Bobby Bowden and now Mr. and Mrs. Tuohy. The prayer breakfast alone may be worth us going to Vegas next year! It's always an awesome experience and I'd hate to miss it! Usually the Prayer Breakfast is during breakfast but this year they had breakfast first then a different meeting area for the guest speakers. I think this was a good idea because a LOT of the time people will show up to the breakfast then bail when they are done eating...super rude for the speakers to see that ya know? For those of you who may not know the story of The Tuohy fa...
