Getting ready for Blitzen's arrival has also meant getting ready for Christmas! I LOVE that we've done everything so early this year!!! In an effort to finish up all my errands for awhile (with a Babywise baby you are pretty much AT THE HOUSE for a looooong time. Thank the Lord for internet shopping and a husband who doesn't mind running errands) Kye and I went to Hobby Lobby to buy some Christmas decorations we were needing. Including a tree for Blitzen's room and a chance for Kye to pick out his ornament for his room this year. We aren't fancy fancy when it comes to Christmas decorations. I'm a big believer in it being FUN and all about the family! Our tree is covered in ornaments with meaning, not ones that are necessarily pretty. We buy an ornament on every vacation we take so they are mostly from vacations (I think we added EIGHT new ones this year from all our travels). I think it's fun to let our kids have their own little tree in their rooms to ...
Officially 7 days out from my due date and ONE day more pregnant than I've ever been :) Baby Size: Blitzen is now just waiting around to come into the world! He or she is already measuring over 20 inches and over 7lb (most likely even more if it's a boy). It's funny to me that they relate the baby size to a small watermelon this week since the saying about childbirth goes "it's pushing something the size of watermelon through a whole the size of a lemon" haha! Belly Pictures: I never got pictures at 39 weeks with Kye because I didn't make it this far so there isn't anything to compare these too...but I honestly think I look better than I did when Kye was born :) Heck, even AFTER Kye was born!!! Kye was ALL about some photos with Mommy this morning! I'm wearing my belly stickers and my Copa Necklace ! I thought I'd show that bare belly for (hopefully? maybe?) the last time! My Symptoms: My cold is mostly gone. I...
Since we knew Blitzen would arrive sometime before Christmas our plan has always been to get our Christmas tree early. There are some things I want to WAIT for the baby to do (visit Santa, order Christmas cards, etc) but some things just seem silly to mess with when you have a newborn. Cutting down and decorating the tree is one of them. I wanted to have our house ALL ready for Christmas before welcoming Blitzen into the world so when he or she gets here we can all enjoy it together as a family! I called Hambricks on Friday Nov 18th to see when they would be opening. I knew they opened on the day after Thanksgiving and I was trying to get situation and scheduled. When I called they said they've had so many requests to open earlier this year that they decided to open up on Sat the 19th!!! I talked to Zach and he agreed, why not go ahead and get it?!?! That morning we had some family time at the character breakfast and after Kye's nap we headed out to Hambrick's tree f...
This morning I had my 38 week check-up. Tomorrow I'm officially 39 weeks, but I wanted to wait this long to get checked again as 1) I didn't want to hear "no change" 2) I was hoping she'd scrape my membranes and 3) Getting checked sent me into labor with Kye so I'd rather go into labor close to a weekend instead of at the beginning of the week! Since poor Kye was stuck going with me to the dr Monday when I was sick and going to his dr Tuesday for his bronchitis check...I didn't want him to have to go through another dr visit this week. Especially with her checking me. Having him in the room would not be helpful! Since Colt had school this morning I met Mrs. Charlotte and Payton and she took the kids to Chick-Fil-A to eat and play during my appointment. I started having some contractions while in the waiting room which made me semi-nervous b/c I didn't want to go into labor while at the dr and have them make me go to the hospital or something! On...
