Britt has been in her "big kid" car seat for awhile now and we still really like it! You can read my review of her seat HERE ! At just a few days over 14 months old my little SMARTY PANTS figured out how to somehow unbuckle herself in the car seat. I seriously can't believe she can do it! I checked everything out and it wasn't because it was too lose or not fully buckled or that the straps needed to have a setting changed or anything. It wasn't due to error from the car seat or from the way we strapped her into it. She is just CLEVER and STRONG! She figured out how to push and squeeze the buckle and pull it out! I hoped it was like a one time thing but I was wrong. I found her unbuckled a few times in a row and knew something had to be done. I personally believe in correcting my children ( yes, we spank! ). As I am preparing for surgery I have been going through my "drafts" on the blog and found some a post from 2010 that I never posted! Perfect timing for a Flashback Friday :) This post was titled "Daddy Obsessed" and obviously I planned to talk about how close Kye and Zach were at this age. What's funny is that they still are! Zach and Mr. Rusty are SUPER close and I LOVE that Zach and Kye are very close as well. Yes, Zach is strict with Kye and is the main disciplinarian but Kye adores his dad and they have so much fun together. I'm so thankful to have SUCH a hands on husband and I love the laughter that fills our home! When we lived at our old house they LOVED to wrestle on the bed (something they still love to do at our new one too!) Kye also has always loved helping Daddy with the yard work! Since I'm having surgery tomorrow (prayers please!) I wanted to go ahead and post on Kelly's Korner's Show Us Your Life topic and I'm hoping I will be able to link-up tomorrow. Did you know it's important for you child to spend at least 20 min a day reading? We read a story for each child before naps as well as a story for each child before bedtime. Now that Britt is getting a little older we will probably be able to just read one story together for them but for now I like that she can "read" touch and feel and more "age appropriate" stories! Britt turned 15 months old on March 6th! When I've gone through my own childhood pictures this one of me standing in the kitchen has become a favorite of mine! Now that Britt is a walker, I set out with a goal to capture a picture of her standing in our kitchen just like this one of me, I thought I'd use these pictures for this month's post! I'm using What to Expect the Toddler Years to see where Britt measures up compared to other children her age in her development and milestones.
