Whenever a new mom or mom-to-be asks for my book recommendations I always recommend both Babywise and The Baby Whisperer Solves All Your Problems . Baby Whisperer goes along with Babywise wonderfully and I pull from both books when creating my children's daily routines. Something I love about The Baby Whisperer (Tracey Hogg) is that her book goes into a lot of detail. My sister-in-law actually is more of a "Baby Whisperer" parent than a "Babywise" one. I lean more towards Babywise with most of my parenting, but draw a lot from The Baby Whisperer as well. One concept I really appreciate from The Baby Whisperer is about temperaments. Our town does a Father Daughter Dance every year around Valentine's Day. When I first heard about this I was hardcore about Zach taking Britt and future daughters. Growing up my dad traveled a lot for work and I don't have a lot of memories of special daughter-father time together. My desire for my girls to attend that dance is very much so because I want Little Emily to get to attend the dance with my dad. Zach was a good husband and took Britt to the dance. Even though he hated it. And even though it was way overpriced for what it was ($10 each and the only food was like goldfish crackers). And even though it was paccccked with people. He did it for me. One of our BIG goals is to " spend smart ." Something I'm wanting to do this year is really look closely at our spending. Little things add up. $10 hear or even $5 there over the course of a year can be some mega money! We want to look for ways to spend less and save more. Zach recently enlightened me to the cost of razors. Y'all. I don't buy his razors so I was totally in the dark about how crazy expensive they are!!! He told me about Dollar Shave Club and how you can get razors shipped directly to your door for only $3 a month. I looked into it and it's legit (and I even watched the video on their homepage and it's pretty funny!) Um yeah this is def happening and it'll easily save us around $100 a year! Just like I was in denial that Tess was old enough to start eating solids...I also couldn't believe it was already time for her 6 month photos! I feel like we just took her 3 months ones! Lindsay has really become like a member of our family. We are all SO comfortable with her and it makes picture time so easy. The kids adore her and Zach doesn't even complain ;) She has such a great eye for locations and great ideas for making it FUN. She found this little "secret garden" in a random spot in our neighborhood. I'd never seen this area before and it's seriously so pretty!
