Robyn's crew headed out first thing Saturday morning and we had a LAZY day planned. When I made plans for the trip I really wanted to make sure I carved out a couple days for JUST the kids and I. While time with friends and family is always fun, it usually results in adults talking and kids playing. I wanted to make sure I had quality time WITH my kids while Zach was in Ireland. We started our Saturday with a big, yummy cinnamon roll breakfast then had some fun playing games while Spear napped.
The second day of our trip was also our actual anniversary! Monday May 28th which was neat because we did also get married on a Monday :) My big gift from Zach for my birthday was getting to do the Keys to the Kingdom Tour. It's a behind the scenes tour at Magic Kingdom. I've been SO PUMPED for this experience and we booked it on our actual anniversary to make it extra-special :) It's so much easier rolling into the parks when you're kid free haha! No strollers, coolers, a billion kid items. EASY!
After our great morning at Animal Kingdom we went back to the house and the kids all napped while Zach and I worked on getting things packed and done so we could head out first thing the next morning. I promised the big three if they went to sleep quick that we'd head out quick and they followed through so once they woke up we hit up Magic Kingdom! This was my first time doing Magic Kingdom solo at night. I'm glad I did Epcot first as Magic Kingdom is a different beast when it comes to crowd levels at nighttime and all exiting the park at once! We have a new game we play at the parks called "remember where we parked!" I still took a pic to make sure we all remembered because I assumed by 11:00 that night memories would probably be a bit foggy ;)
Our original intent on our trip was to go to the BEACH over Spring Break! Buttttt it was just too chilly. So we had literally NO PLANS since our beach day got washed. We saw that Magic Kingdom had another 8 am opening so we made the call to just go back there as a family. Yall know me. I don't do last minute stuff. And we literally were wearing our beach outfits haha but it ended up being one of THE most magical mornings!!! Sometimes last minute plans are THE BEST!
When we first purchased our Disney Vacation Rental Home we planned to go for Spring Break. I mean it just makes sense! Why not use the house for the week and have a chill family time, right? Our property manager contacted us and let us know he had someone interested in renting it for that week for a LARGE sum of money. We said "BOOK IT!" and instead made a short visit down and just got a cheap condo for our few nights.
Even though the purpose of the weekend was to focus on getting things done at the house, we also wanted to take a break to have a little bit of family time! It worked out great b/c Mema's sister lives not too far from the Disney House so they were all able to go visit her for a bit and our crew was able to hit up Magic Kingdom! Spear and I went to MK back during our ICPC stay ( you can read about it here! ) but I was excited to go as a whole family together! We planned to only stay for a few hours and to hit the highlights. It worked out perfectly because the park opened at 8 am. Which is really perfect when you have a baby who eats at 7! We like to get to the park an hour before opening. Since our house is a super short drive we just got him up at 6:45 and were at the park when it was time for him to eat at 7. It worked out so great! Plus an 8 am opening usually means the park is pretty dead which is great too! Pro Dad life! Double stroller AND the glide board for Bri...
