Zach's Results

Tuesday, November 15, 2016

If you aren't a regular blog reader be sure to read this post to be up to speed on everything! The past couple of weeks have been tough. The time of "waiting" isn't easy and on top of that it just seems like we can't catch a break. Both Zach and I have been battling "the crud," someone broke into Zach's car in our driveway AND we had a pipe bust in our backyard. Whew. It's been a LOT. To cope I pretty much single handedly ate my entire ice cream birthday cake 😏 We also decided to put up on Christmas decorations. On Nov 5th. So we're those people now who go straight from Halloween to Christmas and I'm totally not apologizing for it 😉 We discussed it and decided that we both LOVE our house decorated for Christmas and we should soak up all the joy we can right now 🎅 I have been BLOWN AWAY by all the prayers on our behalf. So many sweet cards have come to us, so many friends have reached out, and it's been truly amazing ...

Prayers for Zach

Thursday, November 3, 2016

I'm just gonna start by saying I hate, hate,  hate  writing these types of posts. I don't mind writing them when asking for prayers for others. I'll raise my hand in class and ask for some prayers for people who are hurting with no hesitation. But prayers for myself or my little family? Super. Awkward. But this situation has reached the point where the more prayers the better so I gotta put my pride aside and share what's been going on. Back in late September Zach was traveling a good bit for work. He was working in a prison on Sept 20th (he sells insurance to the guards and staff) and while in the prison he can't have his phone or anything like that. So he left to come out and call me. He said I needed to call and make him an appointment at the eye dr asap. He had been having some eye issues for a bit but that day they got a lot worse and were scaring him. He described it to me as a constant light pressure behind his eyes and then random times where his visi...

Back to Back Issues

Thursday, May 5, 2016

I have been putting off blogging about Zach's back for two reasons: 1) we STILL don't have closure from the guy's insurance who is at fault for the back issues and 2) I kept holding out hope to be able to have a positive blog post after  he was pain free. But here I am... In May 2014 (yes, two years  ago) Zach was sitting at a stop light in town, completely at a stop. A huge truck ran into the back of his car without even breaking (turns out driver was on drugs). Zach went to the emergency room and they told him he'd be needing an MRI on his back (his car was also totaled). This wasn't Zach's first rodeo with back issues. He had back surgery in 2010 but was COMPLETELY pain free and it's been so disheartening for him to have to have back pain all over again (but in a different area of his back this time due to the wreck). Following the wreck we've spent a LOT of money hoping to solve the back issues. An mri revealed a bulging disc. This has really ...

Ashleigh

Monday, July 20, 2015

As many of you probably already know, Ashleigh passed away yesterday morning. I first learned of her passing via Facebook and I just kept refreshing the screen over and over in hopes that maybe someone had just made a mistake. I was thankful to have been pretty much cried out by the time I read Brad's blog post last night. I am so heartbroken over this news. It's one of those things in life where you just wonder why . It doesn't make sense. There is no silver lining to be found. I just don't get it. And that makes it so much harder to accept as reality. While I didn't know Ashleigh well, I'm so thankful we reconnected via Facebook a few years ago. I'm thankful for the amazing person she was. For the lives she touched, including my own. When I first learned of Ashleigh's cancer diagnosis I just wanted to help in some way. She and Brad mentioned via their blog that they'd love help once baby David was born so I held off and at around that time I ...

Light and Momentary

Wednesday, July 1, 2015

One year ago today I shared Ashleigh's story . At that time she was 35 weeks pregnant with her second child, while I was right about the same with Tess. While I was sitting there feeling icky and pregnant and complaining about the trivial things in life...Ashleigh found out she had cancer. For this past year Ashleigh has been literally fighting for her life. And she continues to do so. I know so many of you have been joining me in prayer for her and her sweet family. I was SO excited to see that Andrea, from Momfessionals , heard about Ashleigh and helped spread the word. People all over the world are lifting Ashleigh up in prayer and that's a powerful force! Today Andrea wrote a beautiful post about Ashleigh and included a great way for us to help Ashleigh reach her goal of raising money towards research for inflammatory, triple negative, and metatastic breast cancers. I wanted to do my part to help spread the word for this great cause. Rather than attempt to catch ev...

36 Weeks Pregnant - 9 Months!

Prayer Request: Before starting off my weekly pregnancy post...I do want to ask for prayers for our family. Mr. Rusty (Zach's dad) has been having PSA levels that are higher than the normal range. They are at the point now in the process where a biopsy is the next step. He will be having it in a couple weeks so we can have a better idea of what exactly is going on. Of course we are all worried and trying our best to not let those concerns and list of "what ifs" fill our minds. I have always said that the waiting game is SO HARD and it really is! Please pray for Mr. Rusty and that everything with his biopsy will come back fine and that this is just a minor issue with a simple solution. Also pray for our family that we can continue to remain positive and just trust in the Lord's plan whatever that may be! Of course I will update everyone as we know more...thank you all of always being such amazing prayer warriors :) ***** Baby Growth:  At this point in the game ...
