Anyone who has read my blog even for a little while knows I don't go for too long without posting. If there isn't a new post from me (even if it is a couple months behind "real time") then something must be going on! This break? It's thanks to a hubby stuck in our bedroom for 10 days solid (which is also where I happen to blog) and a lack of internet availability (thanks Mediacom). Rather than jumping back into my chronological order posts, I wanted to do a little update on these past 10 days or so. You can get caught up on what's been going on with Zach's back in this post! Basically I can sum life up around here in one picture: My feelings of guilt I mentioned in that post about Zach's back didn't fade, they only got worse. And it seemed like Zach being out of commission made SO many other things become unraveled. I think caring for three kids 100% solo, and keeping the house in order, and keeping care of a bed-bound husband was...
I have been putting off blogging about Zach's back for two reasons: 1) we STILL don't have closure from the guy's insurance who is at fault for the back issues and 2) I kept holding out hope to be able to have a positive blog post after he was pain free. But here I am... In May 2014 (yes, two years ago) Zach was sitting at a stop light in town, completely at a stop. A huge truck ran into the back of his car without even breaking (turns out driver was on drugs). Zach went to the emergency room and they told him he'd be needing an MRI on his back (his car was also totaled). This wasn't Zach's first rodeo with back issues. He had back surgery in 2010 but was COMPLETELY pain free and it's been so disheartening for him to have to have back pain all over again (but in a different area of his back this time due to the wreck). Following the wreck we've spent a LOT of money hoping to solve the back issues. An mri revealed a bulging disc. This has really ...
I think I am far enough along in my pregnancy to dish out some advice. These are all the things I found (and am still finding) essential to surviving the 9 months of carrying a baby around! I hope these things help other pregnant women out and also help me remember what to bother buying when I go through this all again (in a few years...). 1. Body Pillow: I have used it every night since the first trimester and it's a lifesaver. It does take up a LOT of room in our queen bed but it is so comfortable and helps me sleep on that dreaded left side! It's tough to sleep while pregnant and a body pillow is a must have! Boppy makes a super popular one here. 2. Bella Band: Right when you find out you're pregnant buy one. I wore it all the way up until my 8th month! I was able to wear all my normal pants but just left them unbuttoned. It really does stay up! It's also great when you don't really have the full pregnant belly yet, just the "beer gut...
Zach and I had such a fun time last night (or should I say tonight?). We stayed up until 12:30 making up floorplans on this website he found for our next home! It was sooo much fun and while we obviously aren't moving for at least a couple of years, it's good to have in mind what we want since it'll be our first time building. While in the process of all the fun I felt something different. I felt more pressure in my lower abdomin and it made me a little concerned that maybe the baby has moved somehow? When we finally went to bed I slept AWESOME. However, I woke up about 30 minutes ago (around 5:30 so yeah...4 hours of sleep) and can't go back to sleep. Things just feel different... Some "symptoms" I'm having: No back pain: First night in what feels like a million years that my back isn't hurting while laying down. I'm not tossing and turning. Every position feels comfortable! Not hot: Every night I battle with the thermostat to make it ...
I realized the other day that throughout my pregnancy I haven't really had that many "pregnancy symptoms" or at least if I have had them I haven't noticed. Well, those days are over. I'm in the third trimester now and am being hit like crazy with a million different things to deal with here! First here are some updated belly pics. I'm going to try to take these more often because I think there are much more drastic changes in the size of the belly now! I'm 30 weeks and 2 days in these. Here are some of the changes I've been noticing lately: Baby's Movement: Before it was just kicking, and sometimes I'd feel a tough one to the ribs or something but now it's not really kicking it's JABBING. At pretty much any given moment if you felt my tummy you'd be able to find at least one really tight spot where Clover is pressing a foot or hand or something really hard against the wall. I can also feel hiccups (in the lower belly sinc...
Today I am officially starting my 7th month of pregnancy! Week 28 and I'm in the third trimester! Pretty exciting because it means there are 12 weeks until my due date :) Also not exciting because it means I'm entering the toughest phase of pregnancy. Zach mentioned recently that he's glad we want to spread out our children because he doesn't know how he'd handle me being pregnant again anytime soon! haha! Poor guy thinks it's been tough so far...he doesn't realize what's in store these last 3 months! I honestly feel like I'm a little further along than my due date reflects and I think I've been showing some symptoms of the third trimester for a couple weeks now. Some changes I've noticed in my pregnancy include: On Tuesday my left breast joined my right one in the leaking! My right one has really been leaking a lot to where it'll go through a bra and shirt so I have to wear nursing bra pads already. Also I tried to squeeze the ri...
So while in California I hit the 19th week of my pregnancy! It seems like it is FLYING by!!! It's really hard to believe that I'm about half-way there and I hope the next 4 1/2 months go by as quickly as the past 4 1/2 have so I can hold my baby!!! I'm so ready! Since Ashley, my usual tummy picture taker, wasn't with us I tried to do one myself but it didn't work so great! So these ones will have to work that Zach took for me! I have been suffering from very bad intense migraines since I hit the 13th week but it seems like (knock on wood) that they could be behind me! I'm feeling so much better now! Also while on the trip I woke up one morning with very bad upper back pain and my neck was killing me! We decided my size Small sports bra that I've been sleeping in will no longer cut it. I went to Victoria's Secret today and get measured and I have gone from a 34C to a 36D! I couldn't believe that! Everyone tells me that the "girls...
