A couple weekends ago I got a call from Casey (on a Friday night) asking if I wanted to go to the Bridal Show (that next day). Can you BELIEVE that I didn't have any plans?!? It was two weekends in a row that we were plan-less. The Sat of Jan 15th we actually spent the morning with Big Daddy and Little Mama just visiting then had Matt and Robyn for dinner ...so random for us (we are weeknight hang out people because weekends are usually travel, travel, travel...but not lately!). The morning of the bridal show I actually went to my first chiropractor visit. Since Zach's back has had issues I did a lot more lifting than this girly-girl is used to and actually have some of my own back pain. It was FREAKY going in to get it adjusted! Everyone said I'd like it but I pretty much hated it. I didn't like hearing my back pop and didn't like feeling it pop that way either. Gives me that nails-on-a-chalkboard feeling! Everyone knows that Zach played football in college. Thanks to that we met so many great friends. Chance and Amy were the "it" couple and they are now married and she's early on in her pregnancy with a little BOY (I'm loving that everyone is having boys right now...get 'em out of the way so my next one can be a girl ok?). I'm super pumped that she's blogging (you can read her blog here ) and try to encourage all moms-to-be to start up blogs. It's just such a great way to capture memories and meet new friends. If you read this blog then you know something about Stella & Dot since I'm pretty much wearing it in every picture :) I started with the company in September (which you can read about here ) and I'm SHOCKED with how much I'm loving it. I'll be the first to admit that working isn't really "my thing" and that I'm not motivated to work b/c of money. I know that sounds awful but even when I was broke in college I just wasn't a super hard worker. I didn't care if it paid good or not - I didn't want to be there!!! I realize now that I probably didn't do great at those jobs because I didn't really enjoy them (I mean, duh, working at a dry cleaners is not exactly awesome). Once I started babysitting I was in HEAVEN and didn't care at all how much it paid - I did it because I loved the kids and truly enjoyed my time with them. I ran a little late to Class 2. Zach wouldn't be home in time from Columbus so I actually used Facebook to find Kye his very first babysitter! Luckily a girl from our church, who has watched the dogs before for us, volunteered. He LOVED her right away and I didn't feel bad at all leaving them. That, combined with some new house door drama (I promise to post on it but want to wait until it's resolved!), did make me late. Oh well! The great thing about building a home in the same neighborhood we were living in is that Kye got to be part of the entire process. I was hopeful that all the time he spent at the "new house" would help him transition into making it his home. I'll always think of the back left corner of the porch as "Kye's spot" as every day he'd go take his little snack, water, and a toy over to that spot then just sit and watch the workers while I talked to whoever I needed to meet with that day. what's so funny to me with these two pictures is that they were taken only a week apart - South Ga weather! He would get sick of always having to be at the "new house" so I would bake special treats to take with us As the house got closer and closer to becoming a home I was able to let Kye do more exploring.
