A couple months ago Courtney and Casey approached me about the three of us putting together a party to celebrate Mr. Rusty and Mrs. Charlotte's 30th wedding anniversary. I know that typically people make a big production out of the 25th and not the 30th...but 5 years ago Brad and Courtney had just gotten married, Zach and I were engaged, Casey was in college and we were ALL broke! Instead of waiting for the 50th, why not celebrate now? 30 years is a HUGE achievement and something worth making a fuss over for sure. Even though we all are doing better financially than we were 5 years ago, we still couldn't spend a fortune on the event. As promised, a MUCH more adorable happy post to start off this week :) Zach and I decided to start Kye in preschool this fall for many reasons. The main one being we knew we'd be getting pregnant and wanted Kye to have something just for him . Yes, alone time with the baby will be nice for me (but in actuality the way the schedule will work out Blitzen will typically be sleeping the whole time Kye's gone haha) but we both felt it was very important for Kye to have something fun to look forward to instead of being stuck at the house with a stressed out mommy and crying baby all the time. After much pro-and-con list making we decided to enroll him at Carpenter's Kids Preschool (the reasons we chose C.K.P are on this post !), he's in the 2 1/2 year old class even though he did not turn 2 1/2 by the cut off date. He's for sure the youngest but Kye does well with older children and we can always keep him in that class again if we feel he's not ready to move up nex...
This week has been alllll about Blitzen! I'm sorry it's been a boring blog week, I promise I have lots of cute pictures of Kye coming up for my posts next week AND I'm hoping to be in a more positive mood too ;) Baby Growth: This week Blitzen is weighing about 1 and 2/3 lb and is 14 inches from head to heal. That's the size of an English hothouse cucumber...I've never seen one of those before but I laughed out loud like a middle schooler when I googled the picture of it. I wonder why?!?! Blitzen can now distinguish our voices so it's important that he or she hears positive things :) If Blitzen's a boy, his testicles are working their way down into his scrotom which should only take a couple of days. Guess when we have the 4D ultrasound they better be extra careful not to show us the goods! Since my appointment Monday here's how the spotting patrol broke down: spotted mostly brown multiple times Monday, pink spotting Tues morning (with a call to the dr...they said since I was coming in today to just wait it out unless it got worse), then no more spotting until last night. I had pink last night before bed and again this morning. Let's just say it made me VERY nervous for my appointment this morning!!! Thankfully Zach is home (he was gone Sunday-Wed! YIKES!) and he and Kye were able to go with me this morning. I knew from the appointment Monday that the baby is fine so I wasn't overly concerned about that type of thing, I was more worried that I'd get put on bed rest. I really appreciate all the mommies who have written me telling me they've gone through the same thing (you have NO idea HOW comforting that is!!!) and so many of them said that they ended up on legit bed rest.
