After our great morning at Animal Kingdom we went back to the house and the kids all napped while Zach and I worked on getting things packed and done so we could head out first thing the next morning. I promised the big three if they went to sleep quick that we'd head out quick and they followed through so once they woke up we hit up Magic Kingdom! This was my first time doing Magic Kingdom solo at night. I'm glad I did Epcot first as Magic Kingdom is a different beast when it comes to crowd levels at nighttime and all exiting the park at once! We have a new game we play at the parks called "remember where we parked!" I still took a pic to make sure we all remembered because I assumed by 11:00 that night memories would probably be a bit foggy ;)
All moms have their "things." The things that their children will remember into adulthood. The ones that they'll want to carry on doing with their children and each time they do they will fondly remember their own mother doing them. My thing? It's Disney. My kids know I LOVE Disney and they love it too! It's something we share and enjoy as a family and something I know they'll always carry with them long after I leave this earth. One way I've really incorporated our love for all things Disney into our routine is to have themed movie nights (or afternoons!) revolved around our favorite Disney movies.
As a stay at home mom my days revolve around my children and their schedules and needs. Preparing meals, cleaning up, tucking in, doing homework. It's a constant go-go-go all day every day and it can leave me feeling exhausted, overworked and under appreciated. Even though I have excellent nappers, even nap time has slowly evolved into a time where I feel like I'm not really getting to rest or take a break or have a moment to MYSELF. As soon as the kids go down, I start working on my "side hustle:" I work on blog posts, social media content, and usually work all the way through nap time. With the majority of stay at home moms now also having "side jobs" I'm sure I'm not alone in this feeling that my break time isn't really much of a break at all.
We decided as a family to hit up two parks over the weekend. Yes, we had a good bit of house stuff to do but when you can visit just for a couple hours, why not do it? On Sunday April 29th we went to Animal Kingdom. Over Spring Break we had lucked out and been granted access to the park during the extra morning magic hour. We assumed it was just luck, but figured it wouldn't hurt to test it out. Well. We won't be testing it out again! Ha! We got there and got into the park and a very small section was open for people waiting who weren't allowed in during the extra magic hour. We tried scanning our bands and no luck, we weren't granted access this time!
Yes, we just went to Disney over Spring Break butttt we turned around and went back a couple weeks later! With owning a vacation rental home now we're still very much trying to get everything fully rolling and looking the way we want it to. That means more frequent trips in order to get stuff done and since it was booked over Spring Break we needed to go back! Our plan was to devote a weekend in later April as a "house weekend."
