Spear's 6 Month Well Visit

Monday, August 6, 2018

Spear had his 6 month well check-up on June 26th. Our appointment was the first one of the day and yet we were there for almost a full two hours. I have always LOVED our pediatrician but yall. That's crazy! Zach was at the appointment since Spear had shots and we had ALL four kids there since it's summer. 2 hours for the first appointment of the day is just way too long to be waiting! Thankfully we have sweet babies who all did SO well with the wait and entertained themselves and each other. We did end up asking if they could give Spear his shots early since Zach really needed to leave!

Spear's 4 Month Well Visit

Spear's 4th month well check was on Monday April 16th. We had THE first appointment which was so nice! With the shot appointments I really like Zach to be there. I don't want my kids to have issues with needles and I think his calm nature about them really makes a difference. It worked out great that we were able to have an early morning appointment time before he had to head to work!

Spear's 2 Month Well Visit and Britt's 6 Year Well Visit

Wednesday, April 11, 2018

Britt and Spear had their well visits on Feb 12th. It worked out where Kye and Tess both had their dental cleanings the same day so everyone missed school and everyone went with us to the morning appointment (then Zach took Spear and Britt home while I took Kye and Tess to the dentist!). Britt's 6 year check up didn't include any shots...but Spear's 2 month visit was also  his first round of vaccines. So that meant Daddy came too as Mama can't handle shot duty! Seeing what Disney rides she's tall enough for now ;)  Britt has been complaining of headaches on and off for awhile now so I was interested to see how she did with the vision exam. I had to get glasses when I was in 2nd grade so I assume at least one of our kids will need them! I figured her headache issues were vision related, but she passed the vision test with flying colors!  So glad big brother was there to help keep Spear happy while we waited :)  Waiting. And waiting. And wai...

Spear's Week 3 Summary

This is the summary of Spear's 3rd week of life. From Dec 15th through Dec 21st (He was 2 weeks old during this week). This was also our first week HOME!!! Yay!  Feeding:  I figured the ability to use the Medela bottles wouldn't last forever, and this was the week where a change had to happen. He was taking AGES to eat. On the 19th he took 90 minutes in the middle of the night and I was SO over that!!! I looked into options and realized that Medela bottles are made for breastfed babies and that their flow of nipples were just slower than other bottle types. Even the quickest flow of Medela nipples wasn't really all that "quick" so it was time for a bottle switch up!

Tess's 3 Year Well Visit

Monday, September 18, 2017

I always make the kids' well check visits a year out. Like when we check out from one visit, I go ahead and schedule the next one. When I scheduled Tess's 3 year well check I assumed she'd attend school on Monday, Wednesday and Friday so I made it for a Thursday...well it ended up being that she goes to school on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and her appointment was the first Thursday she was back at school ha! I didn't even attempt to change it because our pediatrician is always booked so solid and I also just have a lot more relaxed attitude about school than I probably should ;) Rather than take her and turn around and pick her up she just skipped the day and we had a fun time at the dr! I took her solo because she didn't need any shots (our deal is that Daddy goes to all shot visits when they're little because I don't want any of our kids getting my needle fears). She did end up needing a finger prick and it broke both mine and the nurses heart when ...

Kye's 8 Year Well Check

Monday, April 17, 2017

Kye had his 8 year well check up on March 28th! It fell on a Tuesday which meant Tess had to tag along because she doesn't go to school on Tuesdays. I also had a couple of concerns about Britt so I wanted to bring her along too. I found out that if you have a dr note for a school absence that it's completely excused. His appointment was at a tricky time of day (10!) so it was silly to take him to school only to turn around and come back and check him out and by the time we got out of there (after noon!) it would have been silly to take him back and check him in. So we skipped ;) I have fond memories as a kid on "skip days" and it was a fun day with my crew! We had a LONG wait but they broke it up and did pieces of the appointment as areas became available. I know locals complain about the waits at our office but y'all it's worth it! The whole staff is phenomenal!  He had both a hearing and vision test We made good use of the waiting room ...

Britt 5 Year Well Check

Monday, February 20, 2017

Britt had her 5 year well visit on Monday Feb 6th. I'm always pretty hardcore about scheduling EARLY morning appointments for my kids, especially with school and everything. But the dr called me and changed her appointment time to 10:45. So that meant I just had to get both her and Tess out of school for the appointment as I knew I wouldn't be able to make it back to the school in time to pick up Tess! I'm so thankful for such easy going, well behaved girls as the long wait was a non-issue (even when the tv in the waiting room was off!). It is a benefit of the kids getting older...life is def easier ;)  Getting weighed and measured! Hearing and vision tests! I am never nervous about hearing because both Zach and I have great hearing...but vision always makes me nervous. I got glasses in 2nd grade so I'm just WAITING for my kids to need 'em. But Britt did great on both checks and passed them both with no concerns! I will probably wait until...

Tess 2 Year Well Visit

Monday, October 17, 2016

Tess's 1 year visit was on August 12th. I was thankful for this visit because I was having some ear pain issues myself and wanted to get it checked out (I had fluid in my ear and have been on a long on-going treatment plan since. Wah wah)! I was thankful Zach was able to come with us and it was nice just having Tess since the other kids had school! Big girl stepping right up to the scale!  She did SO well getting all checked out which surprised me because she doesn't usually feel very comfortable around new people! This is something new I don't remember filling out with my other kids, but I appreciate that they have it. I took a photo of it to keep to refer back to in the future. With the chance of having drug exposure the chance of autism also increases so this may be beneficial for us to keep track of things when Tab comes! My only real concern regarding Tess was her development. She still has a more developed chest area. It isn't more develope...
