Just like I wasn't in a rush to start Britt on solids, I also didn't hurry into using the sippy. I KNOW it's important to get her going on it but I just want to live in a little fantasy world where she'll stay a baby forever and just nurse her till she's 18 haha. I bought a random pink sippy cup at Publix (I think it's a Nuby brand?) and figured we'd start giving it to her with water in it for her "snack" at 3:00. It's the only feeding of the day where she doesn't get solids so I figured it'd be a good time to practice with the sippy. I also dug out Kye's old high chair toy and she plays with that while I'm getting food or her sippy ready for her. Here's a video when I first gave her the cup She "got it" right away! Can't figure out to tilt it up to drink it though It was also her first time tasting water, she had a MUCH better reaction to it than Kye did . ...
As you know my pediatrician gave Kye the okay to introduce whole milk at 10 months old. I'm so glad I didn't do that! I have heard from many people since then that their pediatrician also okay whole milk at this age. I think it must be a trend or something?!? I decided to keep Kye on formula until after the wedding. His birthday fell the day before we left for the trip and I didn't want to have to mess with milk while we were there and worry about how he adjusted to it. When we got home on Monday I put 2 oz of whole milk mixed in with 6 oz of formula for his 3:00 (liquid only) feeding. I'm not sure how people mix the milk and the formula but I made a 6 oz bottle of formula then a 2 oz bottle of milk then poured both of them in the sippy and shook them up! Ta-da! Kye wasn't feeling very well (seemed to be teething maybe? TONS of snot) so I wasn't sure how it would go and since it was the last little bit of powder in the tin I had Zach buy another big thing of f...
So I didn't do so great on one of my goals last month...my kid is still sporting the diaper-only look in most of these pics! I swear someday I'll start making him get dressed every day! My excuse used to be that he spit up so often...I need to find a new reason :) Breakfast: Breakfast is Kye's favorite meal of the day! He LOVES it! Every morning he has either yogurt or oatmeal with banana, prunes, and apple pieces mixed into it. He finishes is ALL and then I give him some Cheerios! I love that he loves breakfast so much and it's a great way to start out our day each morning! Paci Hunter: For a long time Zach and I stored Kye's extra pacis in the drawer of the little plant table we have in Kye's room. It was right next to the crib so it's ultra convenient for those times that he tossed out his paci and we couldn't find another one! Well that's had to change...Kye figured out where our stash was and he started getting into the drawer and havin...
