When I got pregnant I hunted the web like crazy for help. I found lots of it but found it annoying that I was stuck reading stupid message boards a lot of the time and they were not that helpful. What really helped me was when I found Rachael's blog. She was a real person who explained things in normal, human terms and who I could go to for questions if I needed advice. It REALLY helped me throughout my pregnancy and made me decide to create my own blog. I started this blog in order to basically replace journal writing. Who has time to write in a journal everyday? And when you do have the time who actually writes down everything that goes on? To me, my journal didn't leave enough space for hardly anything! Plus journals don't have pictures and I can type faster than I can write! The blog seemed like a natural thing to start doing in order to be able to remember my whole pregnancy for use when I get pregnant again and to allow my close family and friends to stay in touch...
As I mentioned in an earlier post, we named Candler Kye after the little boy I used to babysit for, Candler Murphey. Even though I haven't seen "the kids" since about a month after our wedding (so almost two years ago!) I still think of them often and miss them very much. We got so lucky because the Murphey's were on Spring Break last week and made the trip down this way from Athens (they moved after Zach and I got married!). I was so excited to get to visit with them and for Candler to get to meet Kye! Mrs. Murphey said that Candler doesn't call Kye, Kye but instead calls him Candler Kye because he wants to use the "Candler." So precious! She also said that Candler goes on and on about Kye and how they are twins but that he's just older. I was amazed at the children who came in my door! Mrs. Murphey still looks great, of course but the kids look so so so much older! Madeline has just turned twelve and is SO beautiful! Her hair is the kind of hai...
Last week Mom was out of school for Spring Break so of course she wanted to come visit her grand baby! It worked out nicely for me too because it gave me a much needed break! With all my breast issues lately, I was so happy to be able to feed him then hand him over to her and enjoy myself a little bit! She got into town on Tuesday which was good timing because pretty much every road leading to our house was closed down Sunday and Monday due to flooding! When she arrived we took Kye and ran errands. It was even helpful to have her here for that as she could wait in the car while I ran in! While running errands we decided to get Kye's picture taken with the Easter Bunny! Of course Kye just kept right on sleeping through the whole thing. Yes, the bunny is creepy but doesn't Kye look cute? Again it was good she was here because she was able to keep Kye when I had to quickly run to the dr. to have them look at me on Wednesday. Update about that: I'm STILL hurting. The cream d...
It's like my body said, "Well you are 4 weeks postpartum and you haven't had many issues so let's load you up with some!" I stopped having a lot of bleeding a couple weeks ago but then on the way to Melbourne I had really bad cramps. Like period cramps. I got a little concerned and wondered what was up but it said online that I could be "supposed" to have a period then but since I'm nursing that my body went through the motions of the normal period symptoms without the actual period! I had no spotting all weekend but then I got home and had quite a bit of it for a couple of days...so my question is could I have a period this soon? I heard I shouldn't get one for like 6 months since I'm breastfeeding but my symptoms seem like I could have had one already...This is something I need to ask the dr. at my 6 week check-up for sure! Along the same lines, I started getting a lot of pain in my lower stomach. Not period type pain but hurting . I...
So what I only had a baby four weeks ago? I can totally handle throwing a shower at my house! I'm a little crazy for doing it, but looking back I'm glad I did. It forced me to get in a routine of running errands with the baby and it forced me to give my house a good solid cleaning! I missed out on all of Courtney's baby showers when she was pregnant with Colt and I even missed his birth so I thought I should throw her a shower for Payton. I know showers for second babies aren't the norm but that is so stupid! People still need things! And it's good for Courtney because she's having a girl this time and got a bunch of cute girly things as gifts. The shower went really well! We played two games which I totally plan on playing again when I throw Crissy her shower for Neela in June! We did the attribute game that we played at my shower Mom threw me and we did a game of bottle racing. Ashley totally thought she was going to win! She's hardcore about some s...
