I've been super pumped to meet little Neela for awhile now and it turns out that she's not-so-little!!! Crissy had a scheduled c-section on July 9th and everything went smoothly! Neela Grace Megow was born that morning weighing it at 9 lbs 3 oz and 22 inches long. She's a BIG girl! Already wearing size one diapers and 3 month clothes! As I mentioned before, I have really enjoyed the book The Baby Whisperer Solves All Your Problems. This is my second of three posts I plan on doing that cover my favorite topics in the book. This one is all about temperament! I found it interesting that Hogg talks about baby's emotional lives and how our emotional makeup, for the most part, is predetermined through genes and brain chemistry . She defines temperament as: the raw material that babies possess when they come into the world, also referred to as personality, nature or disposition. She says it affects how they eat, sleep, and react to the world around them. Here are the five different temperaments she discusses: 1. Angel: This is the personality we all hope our babies have! As Kye enters his 5th month I like to look at where he is in comparision to What To Expect The First Year discusses is the "norm" for a child his age. Obviously, I've stopped the weekly Kye updates as changes have been less often I feel it can be summed up once a month in one LONG post! So here goes nothing! Here are the changes Kye has been going through this past month as he now is FOUR months old: Sleep Issues Oh I thought I had it all solved...it turns out when you fix one issue there will always be another one coming up right behind it. He's still sleeping like an angel through the night and we've moved his bedtime up from 9 to 8:30 and plan to eventually , most likely, make it more like 8 but it's tough to get it all done by then! His naps, however, have gone back to being not-so-great. He'll sleep perfectly the first half of the nap then not at all the second half. I'm not joking when I say that the child wakes up EXACTLY 45 min (to the actual min) into his nap. It's such a pain and I get stuck spending the last hour and 15 min of his nap in and out of his room trying to solve the issue. I...
I think most people already know about Courtney, Zach's older sister, and her health problems. She's 26 years old and has lupus. They found out she had lupus when she was pregnant with Colt, her oldest, and then she got pregnant again and had both Colt and Payton in less than one year. Being pregnant causes some major upsets with your body...can you imagine doing it twice in such a short time span? Well on June 26th Courtney was up in Atlanta visiting her husbands family when she got really sick and couldn't stop throwing up. They put her in the hospital up at Emory and couldn't figure out what was wrong with her. She had a SUPER high temperature and her blood pressure was crazy high. They transported her, by ambulance, to South Georgia Medical Center on Monday the 29th and she's been there since. Yes, she's been in the hospital for 10 nights now. I can't even fathom being stuck in a hospital bed for that long, especially not being able to see my child. Payt...
