Zach and I love putting together each of our children's nurseries. It's so fun coming up with a theme and then making it happen! This room is so special to us. We had such a long wait for Spear and his room gave us something to focus on during that time and to help remind us that God would be blessing us with a baby, the perfect-fit baby who was meant to be ours! I will never forget the moment I read the email saying Mama E had chosen us to be her son's parents. I instantly started sobbing and raced into this nursery and sat on my knees just crying and thanking God for this opportunity. Now I'm here with this gift from God and will always cherish the wait that brought us to him :) We've never known the sex of our babies while I've been pregnant so Kye and Tess's nurseries were both gender neutral and Britt's I waited to decorate until after she was born (um that was a terrible idea haha). Spear was the first baby we've had when we knew he'd b...
Now that Tess is 6 months old it's probably about time to show off her room, right? When we got pregnant with Kye we did a VERY gender neutral nursery (you can see it here and here ). We didn't find out the sex of the baby and wanted to decorate a room so we just aimed for something that would work for either a boy or a girl. To be honest though, I think it's more of a boyish room than a girlish one! When I got pregnant with Britt I wanted to wait to decorate the nursery until she was born (you can see her nursery here ). I wanted to do a gender specific room! However, I totally regret this decision. Having a new baby is not the time to be decorating a nursery! I spent a lot more money than I would have liked to because I was stuck ordering everything online and couldn't go out to stores and bargain hunt. And I didn't love her room the way I wanted to! Third time is the charm ;) When I was pregnant with Tess we, again, didn't find out the sex but thi...
This is my post about the best customer service I've ever had, my next post will be about my worst. And yes, they have both happened at about the same time! I'm the kind of person who always considered myself to have "bad luck." As I've grown up and matured I realize that I don't actually have "bad luck." Bad things do happen to me. It may take a lot more effort and a lot longer to get to a desirable end result in a lot of situations for me. I may face a lot of drama along the way but in the end everything always works out. I now think (after Ashley has pointed it out to me on several occasions!) that I have good luck. I've come to appreciate the little bumps in the road because I have faith that everything will work out, in the end, to be a positive result. About a year ago we bought Kye's nursery furniture from a store called Our New Baby in Thomasville, GA. We ended up buying the Ocean collection by Baby's Dream . Looking back I...
I've been following the Babywise Blog that I mentioned in an earlier post and something I like that she does is a weekly report on how her baby is doing. I think this is a GREAT idea so I can compare how Kye is at such and such week to how the next baby is. I'm going to attempt to do this each Wednesday since Kye was born on a Wednesday and each one makes him one week older! Once the weeks quit having so many changes in them I'll probably change it to a monthly thing! Diapers Kye has grown out of the size 1 Pampers so I tried him in some of the Huggies we have. Before hearing how much better Pampers is than Huggies I bought some Huggies since they are much cheaper! Using the size 1-2 Huggies was our first experience with them and they are SO much smaller than Pampers! I put him in ONE of the transition diapers and it gave him red lines from being too tight already! Luckily I also had a bag of transition 1-2 Pampers so we're using those. But what a waste! I also have...
I know, I know, I've been slacking on my blog this week! It's just all been tooooo crazy lately! I have a lot of catching up to do :) I've been waiting to put these up for awhile now but I didn't want Mom to get a look at them before she came up to visit. We have the nursery finished! It looks so good and I am so happy with it! Here is the bedding! So glad it finally arrived :) Our modern mobile (why is it that "modern" = overpriced? seriously!) and the picture frames I made! Here is Zach when he was a "baby." Mrs. Charlotte was not as hardcore into picture taking as my mom was (yes, I get it from her) so we had a hard time finding any good ones of him! He's actually 18 months old in this picture but we had to make due with what we had! Of course since we had a hard time finding one of Zach I tried to pick one of me that looks somewhat the same age as his. I'm 10 months in this picture! Can't wait to see who Clover looks like :) All of ...
I've been waiting to put these up for awhile now but I wanted Mom to get a chance to see it in person before seeing it online! If you've ever glanced at this blog before then you know we are going to be surprised at the sex of our baby! Zach has been very picky with what to do for the nursery and I really wanted to do something we'd both love so we decided to match the contemporary feel of the rest of our house with dots as the pattern. I'm not a HUGE dots fan so we also incorporated animals! Here's the crib (I LOVE our crib) It's missing the bedding which won't be in until late Jan. We also are going to be hanging two white frames above the crib with pictures of each of us when we were babies in them. Plus we don't have the mobile yet either. The birds are wall stickers so cool! We ended up doing the same red curtains that we have in the rest of our house but the matched so why not? And it looks good from the outside of the house with the blinds open b...
