Since Kye's bad day on Monday he's been fine! However, his diapers haven't been. Since I breastfeed his diapers are always pretty runny (like butterscotch pudding I'd say) but lately they have been like liquid and have been much more frequent than usual. That has lead to the WORST diaper rash this kids hiney has ever seen! I decided yesterday to break down and call the dr. I'm NOT one of those omg-call-the-doctor mother's but at his appointment last week she TOLD me I can call anytime with any questions so I just wanted to make sure he's not dehydrated or something from all the extra poop. Well when I called I got a nurse and the nurse took down all his "symptoms" and said she'd ask the dr. and call me back. When she called back she told me not to give him any juice...um I haven't been. Ever! And to use A&D cream on his rash rather than the Desitin. That was it! I've been following the Babywise Blog that I mentioned in an earlier post and something I like that she does is a weekly report on how her baby is doing. I think this is a GREAT idea so I can compare how Kye is at such and such week to how the next baby is. I'm going to attempt to do this each Wednesday since Kye was born on a Wednesday and each one makes him one week older! Once the weeks quit having so many changes in them I'll probably change it to a monthly thing! Diapers Kye has grown out of the size 1 Pampers so I tried him in some of the Huggies we have. Before hearing how much better Pampers is than Huggies I bought some Huggies since they are much cheaper! Using the size 1-2 Huggies was our first experience with them and they are SO much smaller than Pampers! I put him in ONE of the transition diapers and it gave him red lines from being too tight already! Luckily I also had a bag of transition 1-2 Pampers so we're using those. But what a waste! We are officially experts on all things baby and parenting! haha...well at least we should be after the completion of allll these classes we've taken! After a long drive back from Gatlinburg (Zach keeps saying we went to North Carolina...random) we had to get ready and go to the TLC class the same night! I was one of the only two pregnant women who attended the class. Our largest class was the epidural one and the smallest was the one on actually caring for the baby! Kinda ironic! While we didn't enjoy the postpartum class so much this one was MUCH more beneficial and I'm glad it was the last class as it covered more of the fun aspects of parenting instead of so much gross-ness. Things we learned in this class included: The bulb syringe needs to be pushed in before placing it in the baby's cheeks and nose then release it to get the gunk out.
