14 Week OBGYN Visit

Wednesday, June 15, 2011

Man! Not getting an early ultrasound makes these heartbeat appointments so much more exciting. Last time around since I got to see Kye so early on, the heartbeat stuff wasn't really that awesome. I mean I SAW my kid ...hearing it isn't half as fun. But this time, I was pumped to get to hear it! Zach missed one appointment throughout my whole pregnancy with Kye (it was the one where the dr I had to see, since Stacy was gone, was a HUGE jerk about my weight gain... remember ?). Today he had to miss the appointment and I'm hoping it's also the only one he'll miss. It did work out well because Mom was able to come and she never got to come to any last time! It was nice that she was able to hear her 2nd grand-baby too :) I love having early morning appointments b/c we get in and out pretty quick and Kye behaves well (it helps that they have a tv in the waiting room!). They weighed me and it said I had gained 2 lbs since my last appt. Mine at home only says 1 so I...

Mommy's Story of Childbirth

Warning: this will be a VERY long entry! I apologize for that but I am keeping this blog for myself more than anyone else so I want to be able to remember every detail from the delivery of my first baby so I can remember what to expect for the second one! If it helps someone else out too, then great! Also I didn't leave a single detail out, so if you don't want to be aware of what happens during childbirth (I know "they" say pregnant woman shouldn't hear about it) then don't read this!

One Day Shy Of 39 Weeks

Tomorrow I will be 39 weeks pregnant! I usually don't take pictures of my tummy every week but this week you can really tell a difference. If you compare these to the ones taken last week you can tell that the baby is lower for sure! Some changes I have noticed this week: My hands feel numb a lot and look a lot more swollen. Especially after I go walking. I haven't even tried to wear my wedding or engagement ring for a couple weeks now. I've gotten more stretch marks. I now have some on each side of my stomach and several small ones on my chest. Like I mentioned above, the baby has dropped more. Zach and I got back from walking Sunday night and I lifted up my shirt and felt an "emptiness" at the top of my stomach. Where I used to feel the baby's butt and legs pressing against me, I instead feel stretched skin over an empty void then, if I feel lower, I can feel the baby. So I thought that was a good sign! My feet, like my hands, are swollen. I do not eve...

First "Internal" Exam

This morning I had my first weekly exam. After the interesting stuff I went through on Monday after Walmart, I was pretty curious to see what Stacy would say! Since Monday night I have still continued to have more wetness (a word? probably not) down there and (I'm graphic, deal with it as I want to be able to remember this kind of stuff for next time!) when I go to the bathroom it feels different when I wipe. It's like when I wipe the toilet paper kinda slips "up" there more than it naturally should...it's like "opps!" haha. I've also been feeling more contractions, nothing regular but sometimes they will be pretty intense. Those started on Saturday when we went to BabiesRUs but I do still feel them off and on, at least a couple times a day. I weighed myself and I shouldn't have haha! I gained 3 lbs in ONE WEEK. Crazy! I've now officially gained 34 pounds total, yikes. I can gain one more pound and still be considered where I should be we...

34 weeks only 6 to go!

I can't believe that in six weeks I'll be a MOM! It's so exciting! What is even crazier is that sometime during this week while Courtney was pregnant that she delivered Colt. It's hard to believe that if I did go into labor that little Clover could be 100% fine! Hopefully that won't happen but still it's neat to think about that! Here are the latest pictures of me :) I'm trying to take new ones every two weeks as my tummy is getting bigger and bigger and bigger... When Mom brought me my baby album to pick out a baby picture of me for Clover's room I noticed a couple pictures of her from her eighth month of pregnancy. I saved them to put up here as a comparison once I got to the eighth month marker! Do we even compare? No! She looks awesome and so so so tan. It makes me wish it was summer right now so I could be that tan, but then again who wants to be pregnant through a Valdosta summer (especially when I don't have access to a pool)? I had my...

32 Weeks...8 more to go!

Today I am officially starting my eighth month of pregnancy! Pre-pregnant life I thought people were pregnant for 9 months so I'd be pumped right now thinking it's almost over! Don't think so fast...the way the calculate all this junk now means I still have 8 weeks (2 months) left to go and I am STARTING my eighth month, the baby is born at the END of the 9th! Anyways...Here are some of the latest belly pictures (taken this morning) Here are the changes I've been noticing: I don't know if it's just because I've been sick this week but I wake up in the morning with really sore legs. Like I ran a marathon while sleeping or something. I've heard of the night leg cramps and I have woken up to some of these before but I'm not sure if that's why they are sore in the mornings or not! I can feel a lot of movement. I can distinguish between hiccups (which feel like a heartbeat to me) and kicks (which feel more like punches honestly) I've gained...

I missed Stacey!

Thank the LORD my regular mid-wife, Stacey, was finally back today from her maternity leave! I've been missing her a lot!!! On the way to the dr. this morning I felt Clover kick for the first time on my left side! Up until now I've only felt movement on the right (which also happens to be the only side I'm leaking on, strange huh?) so it's nice to know that the baby is taking advantage of all the space in there now! Had the gestational diabetes test done...had to drink some nasty stuff and wait an hour then get blood drawn (which I DREAD). They said my blood pressure looks good and so does my hemoglobin. I will know the results of the diabetes test next visit but Stacey said it should be fine. She also said my weight looks GREAT. She said she saw the notes in my folder from the last dr. and for me not to worry about that. She said I've gained a great amount overall, it's just that I gained so much of it from one appointment to the next. I love her because she j...

Magic Eye Baby

Wednesday, October 15, 2008

Had our 18 week ultrasound on Monday...I was SO excited since the last ultrasound turned out so great I was sure this one would be even better since the baby is so much bigger and more developed! Of course nothing ever goes how I plan! Here is the picture. Yup, that's our baby. If you stare at it without blinking for 30 seconds you may be able to tell! haha. Where the little arrow is pointing is the face. The big round thing is the stomach. It's little hand is rubbing it's left eye if that helps at all! Disappointing huh? The good news is that the baby is very healthy...heartbeat was around 146 and weight is 8 oz. They said that even though I have all that confusion about my due date that it is March 12th so we'll see if I'm right or if they are when the delivery day actually arrives! The tech girl could tell the sex!!! It was very tempting to find out but we didn't. She even pulled the whole "i can write it down and seal it in an envelope" thing and ...

16 week dr. appt

Went to the doctor this morning just to hear the heartbeat and have a general check-up! I still weigh less than I did at my first pregnant dr appointment! I guess I was super bloated or something...isn't that strange? We got to hear our little ones heart and it's very healthy. Healthy should be between 120 and 160 and ours was 148 :) We discussed my raising heart issue and she said it is very common so I feel better abou that! I also asked about my intense migraines and she said from now on right when I feel one coming on I need to take 2 extra strength tylenols and drink a mountain dew then do it again every three hours until the headache goes away! Isn't that hilarious? She said it is sworn to work and it won't hurt the baby, she did say that my heart will probably race more during those times due to the increase in caffeine! I got answers to several of my other questions: The baby can fly anytime as long as the airline allows it and we have it suck on a pacif...
