15 Weeks Pregnant

Here's all the wonderful updates about my pregnancy this week! Baby Growth: Blitzen is now about 4 inch long and the size of an apple. He or she is weighing in at about 2 oz and can sense light (if we put a flashlight up to my belly Blitzen would move away from it!). At this point it's also the "time" where we could find out the sex if we desired! I don't wanna know what it is yet...but I just hope either way he or she doesn't have a nose like this baby!!! Belly Picture: I'm having to stick it out less and less each week in order to look pregnant :) I'm still loving the Baby Shines sticker weekly numbers! It'd make such a good gift for someone newly pregnant ya know? I need to remember that! My belly is VERY different from last time around...early on in my pregnancy with Kye I couldn't wear my pants and had to invest in a Bella Band. This time it's so funny to see because it is like my stomach sticks out then BAM goes flat rig...

14 Week OBGYN Visit

Wednesday, June 15, 2011

Man! Not getting an early ultrasound makes these heartbeat appointments so much more exciting. Last time around since I got to see Kye so early on, the heartbeat stuff wasn't really that awesome. I mean I SAW my kid ...hearing it isn't half as fun. But this time, I was pumped to get to hear it! Zach missed one appointment throughout my whole pregnancy with Kye (it was the one where the dr I had to see, since Stacy was gone, was a HUGE jerk about my weight gain... remember ?). Today he had to miss the appointment and I'm hoping it's also the only one he'll miss. It did work out well because Mom was able to come and she never got to come to any last time! It was nice that she was able to hear her 2nd grand-baby too :) I love having early morning appointments b/c we get in and out pretty quick and Kye behaves well (it helps that they have a tv in the waiting room!). They weighed me and it said I had gained 2 lbs since my last appt. Mine at home only says 1 so I...

12 Weeks Pregnant!

I truly do apologize for being MIA this past week. It's the longest I've gone without blogging in forever . I don't really have a valid excuse (although 3 out of town weddings and 1 week in Bermuda all in the same month probably is decently valid!) but it is what it is. I'm back and I'll be catching up ASAP! I missed posting on Friday as we were at the third (and final...for awhile!) wedding! I'm THRILLED to be into my second trimester and here's what's going on in week 12 of this pregnancy journey: Baby Growth: Blitzen is now the size of a lime and just over 2 inches long. So exciting! He or she now has reflexes and if I poke my belly Blitzen will move in response (even though I can't feel it yet)! If we could look inside my belly, here is what Blitzen looks like: Belly Picture: We were at the beach on Friday, which is when I officially hit 12 weeks, so we made due and snapped a picture before lunch. I LOVED the cute stickers Danielle had t...

Officially Full Term

When I walked into the dr. yesterday the first thing Stacy said to me was. "as of tomorrow you're full term!" I hadn't even realized that! Isn't that amazing to think that is Clover came today she or he would be healthy and not considered early? Today is a pretty significant day. I'm due exactly one month from today (less if you count the days but by the date it's one month away!). I'm 36 weeks pregnant and starting my 9th month of pregnancy. It's truly hard to believe that it has been 9 months. Everyone I have talked to says pregnancy feels like it lasts forever but honestly the time had flown by for me! It seems like just yesterday we found out we were pregnant and now we will be parents at any time! Here are the latest pictures of me: I've been experiencing lots more changes with my body: Pain: My lower back has been hurting A LOT more than usual. Especially whenever I go from laying to standing, it's horrible. I also have a lot o...

30 Week Update

I realized the other day that throughout my pregnancy I haven't really had that many "pregnancy symptoms" or at least if I have had them I haven't noticed. Well, those days are over. I'm in the third trimester now and am being hit like crazy with a million different things to deal with here! First here are some updated belly pics. I'm going to try to take these more often because I think there are much more drastic changes in the size of the belly now! I'm 30 weeks and 2 days in these. Here are some of the changes I've been noticing lately: Baby's Movement: Before it was just kicking, and sometimes I'd feel a tough one to the ribs or something but now it's not really kicking it's JABBING. At pretty much any given moment if you felt my tummy you'd be able to find at least one really tight spot where Clover is pressing a foot or hand or something really hard against the wall. I can also feel hiccups (in the lower belly sinc...

Spoke Too Soon...

I thought I wasn't experiencing many pregnancy symptoms but over the past couple of days I've discovered a few more!!! 1. Dreams: I have been having CRAZY dreams. My most common one? That I forget to feed the baby, the baby has a hard time breastfeeding, or just a dream of me breastfeeding in general. I think I have this dream because I'm nervous about breastfeeding and also I think I have it on nights when I'm sleeping in a funky postion that makes my breasts hurt because everytime I have this dream I wake up and they are sore! haha 2. Belly : Still haven't had a stranger notice but the BELLY is HERE! I can no longer see my privates! haha I didn't realize that until I took a bath the other night and saw them for the first time in a looong time and realized that area could use a little help haha I am gaining not just in the belly but all around the belly area. My butt is no longer in existence as my lower back baby gain is one with the booty. My "love...

Indulging in a Craving = a Bigger Baby Belly!

I know I have blogged before about my main pregnancy cravings and the number one item on that list has ALWAYS been Choco Tacos. I first wanted one when Zach and I were in Asheville, NC and he wouldn't buy it for me because it was $3.50 (a rip-off I admit). Of course Taco Bell's no longer sell them and you can't buy them at either of our walmarts, our publix, or any of our gas stations. I've heard that one Mexican restaurant has them but I haven't actually tried going in there for one, at least not yet! Well on our way to Atlanta Friday afternoon we stopped to get gas and I now LOVE the city of Vidalia! I was heading to the bathroom in the gas station and just did my routine peek at the ice cream bar box thing and there it was!!! I was pumped!!! It isn't a secret that I've been wanting one f o r e v e r. I was totally prepared to devour all 290 calories as quickly as possible but of course my husband wanted a bite! Lucky for me he just took a tiny tiny ...

Week 12 - Time to EAT

All this time being pregnant and I have YET to be hungry at all! Well Rachael was right...that day has come :) Over Labor Day weekend I suddenly changed and instead of never being hungry, I get this pain in my stomach if I don't eat a little something every couple hours! I would start being this way on vacation where there are very little healthy foods to choose from! I snacked on Oatmeal Cream Pies and Puffy Cheetos all weekend! haha! I know now that my eating has picked up some (I still wouldn't say I'm one of those pregnant chicks who could win an all-u-can-eat competition or something) I'm sure the weight will start picking up too! I've done well my first trimester in the weight gain department, I was really bloated at first so I gained like 9 lbs (I am adding 4 lbs to my pregnancy weight gain everytime I weigh myself b/c I considered myself 4 lbs overweight when I got pregnant...so really I'd gained 5 lbs of pregnancy weight)! But then it dropped off ...

Week Eight Summary!

This past week has been pretty crazy! On Monday we met up to eat at Katie's house for Monday Night Meals (which I think we are changing to Tuesday nights!) She made Ceasar Burgers which are basically Ceasar Salad mixed with Hamburgers. They were sooo good and Zach has not shut-up about them since! It's funny b/c I am NEVER hungry (I thought you were always supposed to be starving when pregnant? well not me, I have to force myself to eat) yet when we go to Katie's I always scarf down :) I think the baby knows she is the greatest cook ever already! We spent the night playing Guesstures and we told Seth and Crissy our news! I was so excited to tell them because they are already parents and I knew they would be so excited! Of course they were and I can't wait to hear all of Crissy's tips...Since Stevie was born in March and ours is due in March I went through Crissy's pregnancy timeline to kind of see what I will look like each step of the way! This pictu...
