When I walked into the dr. yesterday the first thing Stacy said to me was. "as of tomorrow you're full term!" I hadn't even realized that! Isn't that amazing to think that is Clover came today she or he would be healthy and not considered early? Today is a pretty significant day. I'm due exactly one month from today (less if you count the days but by the date it's one month away!). I'm 36 weeks pregnant and starting my 9th month of pregnancy. It's truly hard to believe that it has been 9 months. Everyone I have talked to says pregnancy feels like it lasts forever but honestly the time had flown by for me! It seems like just yesterday we found out we were pregnant and now we will be parents at any time! Here are the latest pictures of me: I've been experiencing lots more changes with my body: Pain: My lower back has been hurting A LOT more than usual. Especially whenever I go from laying to standing, it's horrible. I also have a lot o...
I can't believe that in six weeks I'll be a MOM! It's so exciting! What is even crazier is that sometime during this week while Courtney was pregnant that she delivered Colt. It's hard to believe that if I did go into labor that little Clover could be 100% fine! Hopefully that won't happen but still it's neat to think about that! Here are the latest pictures of me :) I'm trying to take new ones every two weeks as my tummy is getting bigger and bigger and bigger... When Mom brought me my baby album to pick out a baby picture of me for Clover's room I noticed a couple pictures of her from her eighth month of pregnancy. I saved them to put up here as a comparison once I got to the eighth month marker! Do we even compare? No! She looks awesome and so so so tan. It makes me wish it was summer right now so I could be that tan, but then again who wants to be pregnant through a Valdosta summer (especially when I don't have access to a pool)? I had my...
Today I am officially starting my eighth month of pregnancy! Pre-pregnant life I thought people were pregnant for 9 months so I'd be pumped right now thinking it's almost over! Don't think so fast...the way the calculate all this junk now means I still have 8 weeks (2 months) left to go and I am STARTING my eighth month, the baby is born at the END of the 9th! Anyways...Here are some of the latest belly pictures (taken this morning) Here are the changes I've been noticing: I don't know if it's just because I've been sick this week but I wake up in the morning with really sore legs. Like I ran a marathon while sleeping or something. I've heard of the night leg cramps and I have woken up to some of these before but I'm not sure if that's why they are sore in the mornings or not! I can feel a lot of movement. I can distinguish between hiccups (which feel like a heartbeat to me) and kicks (which feel more like punches honestly) I've gained...
I realized the other day that throughout my pregnancy I haven't really had that many "pregnancy symptoms" or at least if I have had them I haven't noticed. Well, those days are over. I'm in the third trimester now and am being hit like crazy with a million different things to deal with here! First here are some updated belly pics. I'm going to try to take these more often because I think there are much more drastic changes in the size of the belly now! I'm 30 weeks and 2 days in these. Here are some of the changes I've been noticing lately: Baby's Movement: Before it was just kicking, and sometimes I'd feel a tough one to the ribs or something but now it's not really kicking it's JABBING. At pretty much any given moment if you felt my tummy you'd be able to find at least one really tight spot where Clover is pressing a foot or hand or something really hard against the wall. I can also feel hiccups (in the lower belly sinc...
Today I am officially starting my 7th month of pregnancy! Week 28 and I'm in the third trimester! Pretty exciting because it means there are 12 weeks until my due date :) Also not exciting because it means I'm entering the toughest phase of pregnancy. Zach mentioned recently that he's glad we want to spread out our children because he doesn't know how he'd handle me being pregnant again anytime soon! haha! Poor guy thinks it's been tough so far...he doesn't realize what's in store these last 3 months! I honestly feel like I'm a little further along than my due date reflects and I think I've been showing some symptoms of the third trimester for a couple weeks now. Some changes I've noticed in my pregnancy include: On Tuesday my left breast joined my right one in the leaking! My right one has really been leaking a lot to where it'll go through a bra and shirt so I have to wear nursing bra pads already. Also I tried to squeeze the ri...
Thank the LORD my regular mid-wife, Stacey, was finally back today from her maternity leave! I've been missing her a lot!!! On the way to the dr. this morning I felt Clover kick for the first time on my left side! Up until now I've only felt movement on the right (which also happens to be the only side I'm leaking on, strange huh?) so it's nice to know that the baby is taking advantage of all the space in there now! Had the gestational diabetes test done...had to drink some nasty stuff and wait an hour then get blood drawn (which I DREAD). They said my blood pressure looks good and so does my hemoglobin. I will know the results of the diabetes test next visit but Stacey said it should be fine. She also said my weight looks GREAT. She said she saw the notes in my folder from the last dr. and for me not to worry about that. She said I've gained a great amount overall, it's just that I gained so much of it from one appointment to the next. I love her because she j...
Several things to update: First: I took my wedding ring off during night church and my fingers are swollen like crazy! You could see the indention where the ring was! Second: I'm mega uncomfortable. MAJORILY!!! Especially right under my chest. It constantly aches and my back is also starting to hurt (the 6 hour drive thur should be ffffuuuunn) . Third: The baby is moving much much more often and more intensely. I think that soon I'll be able to feel the actual foot b/c the kicks are so hard! I love feeling Clover move though and I know it will be something I'll miss so much once she/he gets here! Forth: A couple days ago I went and visited Javon and Dawn (who did our awesome wedding pictures...and have become our friends!) and their new baby Cade. I had a really good time especially b/c they are really just cool people who are open like I am and I knew I could ask them anything and they'd tell me the truth! haha! Anyways...their son is precious and I dreamed...
Sooo Clover kicked me tonight in the ribs! First time! And yes, it does hurt! We were playing monopoly and I was like "what was that?" b/c I felt something hard and I realized it was my child reminding me that she or he is still in there :) Can I also say I'm jealous of all these people getting to have their babies? I know mine isn't do yet but I'm ready for my turn to hold my baby in my arms! Lucky Rachael had hers a couple days ago and Lauren Pate is in labor right now! So jealous!
In 100 days our baby is due! I'm pretty sure it won't be until at least 110 days that we'll become parents but it's still fun to think about! Katie, Ashley, and I decided to call the baby Clover since it's due around St Patrick's Day (and Clover is a little better than calling it "it") With our baby being so active I've decided everytime it moves it means that the baby likes whatever it is I'm doing (or watching). So far a list of things the baby enjoys includes: Church (the most active Clover's been so far!) The Jewelry Channel Desperate Housewives X-Files Ikea Christmas Music Taco Bell My Bed I'm sure I'll be adding to the list soon :) I know Clover hates driving because I have yet to feel "it" while I'm in the driver's seat of my car...but maybe Clover just doesn't like my driving...
This past Thursday, November 20th. marked my 24th week of pregnancy! I'm into my six month!!! Pretty big milestone for sure :) Here is what I look like now (I put these up for you Michelle!), and will supposedly be coming home from the hospital looking like. It's not near as bad as I thought and if it's true that you come home looking 6 months pregnant I feel like I'll be able to lose this in a decent amount of time! While I still have yet to have a stranger notice my pregnancy, I have already witnessed some changes that the sixth month brings. 1. Baby: Moving like CRAZY now! I love it! Up until this week I'd usually only feel the baby move late at night or early in the morning and now I feel it several times throughout the day. Sunday at church was a time I don't think I'll ever forget. The little baby was moving throughout the whole service! Ashley got to feel it for the first time which was exciting for her! I realize how difficult it will b...
I have yet to experience many of the pregnancy symptoms I have read about: Still never hungry, no true I'll-die-if-I-don't-get-to-eat-this cravings, no nose bleeds, and (thankfully!) no hemroids. However I am experiencing a couple of the major pregnancy side effects. My tummy itches a lot (I am scratching it more than I am rubbing it haha), I have to "tinkle" (your welcome Mom...) constantly, and sleeping is no longer a luxury I enjoy! I am not tired as much as I was earlier on (especially now that knock-on-wood the headaches seem to be gone) and I have a hard time falling asleep. Once I finally get to sleep I wake up SO easily!!! And once I wake up I can't go back to sleep at all! Do I have to "tinkle" during the night? Yes...but do I get up to do it? Not usually! I'm too afraid that once I get up I won't be able to go back to sleep! Zach has been working a TON lately and so he's been waking up pretty early in the mornings. I am pretty muc...
We left Friday for Melbourne! It's been sooo long since we've been down there and it was a really nice trip! I managed to stay awake the whole way and Zach and I enjoyed some nice conversation. Saturday morning we got up and went Garage Saling! We found some great deals on books (and decided we have to get a book shelf for the baby's room for sure now!) and we even found maternity clothes! I was pretty pumped about it...Zach was the most pumped about the set of 12 Bible Story Books we found for $5. At 4 we went to an early dinner with Mom and Nana for my birthday celebration. We went to The Cove because it's one of Mom and Nana's favorite places to eat and they have recently redone the whole place. I'm just glad I got to celebrate with Nana! Her health has not been super awesome lately and I cherish each moment we get to spend together. I told her a long time ago to stop buying gifts and so she gave me one of her bracelets for my bday gift :) We went to her ho...
YAY!!! About 30 min. ago I was laying in bed with the dogs watching tv starting to wake up when I felt the intense bubbly feeling I've had for the past couple days now. I thought it was my uterus expanding but I read that can be kind of painful and this feeling isn't painful at all...just different. So I put my hand on the outside of my tummy and I can feel it there too! As soon as I got up I dug around for my What to Expect When You're Expecting book (the first time I've actually looked at it haha). And YUP! I'm feeling the baby move!!!! I can't WAIT until Zach gets home so I can see if he can feel it too! This is so exciting :)
I know I have blogged before about my main pregnancy cravings and the number one item on that list has ALWAYS been Choco Tacos. I first wanted one when Zach and I were in Asheville, NC and he wouldn't buy it for me because it was $3.50 (a rip-off I admit). Of course Taco Bell's no longer sell them and you can't buy them at either of our walmarts, our publix, or any of our gas stations. I've heard that one Mexican restaurant has them but I haven't actually tried going in there for one, at least not yet! Well on our way to Atlanta Friday afternoon we stopped to get gas and I now LOVE the city of Vidalia! I was heading to the bathroom in the gas station and just did my routine peek at the ice cream bar box thing and there it was!!! I was pumped!!! It isn't a secret that I've been wanting one f o r e v e r. I was totally prepared to devour all 290 calories as quickly as possible but of course my husband wanted a bite! Lucky for me he just took a tiny tiny ...
Supposedly any day now I should be able to feel kicking! But I am clueless as to what that kicking will feel like. Everything I read says it will be similar to little gas bubbles in my stomach but then how do I know if it's kicking or just gas? I'm pretty sure I've probably felt it but it's not as awesome as I thought it would be because I am not positive that what I feel is kicking! I wrote something about it on my facebook and Rachael sent me a link to a website that calculates when you should feel the kicking (or I think the official name is quickening or something). I was all excited about it but then it asked for the typical pregnancy calculator question: First Date of Your Last Menstrual Period. Again another big unknown! Sure my last real one was on May 14th so I type that in and it tells me my baby will be due on Feb. 18th (almost a month sooner than the due date the dr has me down for). So that must be wrong right? So I try the next time I had any signs of...
