15 Weeks Pregnant

Here's all the wonderful updates about my pregnancy this week! Baby Growth: Blitzen is now about 4 inch long and the size of an apple. He or she is weighing in at about 2 oz and can sense light (if we put a flashlight up to my belly Blitzen would move away from it!). At this point it's also the "time" where we could find out the sex if we desired! I don't wanna know what it is yet...but I just hope either way he or she doesn't have a nose like this baby!!! Belly Picture: I'm having to stick it out less and less each week in order to look pregnant :) I'm still loving the Baby Shines sticker weekly numbers! It'd make such a good gift for someone newly pregnant ya know? I need to remember that! My belly is VERY different from last time around...early on in my pregnancy with Kye I couldn't wear my pants and had to invest in a Bella Band. This time it's so funny to see because it is like my stomach sticks out then BAM goes flat rig...

14 Week OBGYN Visit

Wednesday, June 15, 2011

Man! Not getting an early ultrasound makes these heartbeat appointments so much more exciting. Last time around since I got to see Kye so early on, the heartbeat stuff wasn't really that awesome. I mean I SAW my kid ...hearing it isn't half as fun. But this time, I was pumped to get to hear it! Zach missed one appointment throughout my whole pregnancy with Kye (it was the one where the dr I had to see, since Stacy was gone, was a HUGE jerk about my weight gain... remember ?). Today he had to miss the appointment and I'm hoping it's also the only one he'll miss. It did work out well because Mom was able to come and she never got to come to any last time! It was nice that she was able to hear her 2nd grand-baby too :) I love having early morning appointments b/c we get in and out pretty quick and Kye behaves well (it helps that they have a tv in the waiting room!). They weighed me and it said I had gained 2 lbs since my last appt. Mine at home only says 1 so I...

12 Weeks Pregnant!

I truly do apologize for being MIA this past week. It's the longest I've gone without blogging in forever . I don't really have a valid excuse (although 3 out of town weddings and 1 week in Bermuda all in the same month probably is decently valid!) but it is what it is. I'm back and I'll be catching up ASAP! I missed posting on Friday as we were at the third (and final...for awhile!) wedding! I'm THRILLED to be into my second trimester and here's what's going on in week 12 of this pregnancy journey: Baby Growth: Blitzen is now the size of a lime and just over 2 inches long. So exciting! He or she now has reflexes and if I poke my belly Blitzen will move in response (even though I can't feel it yet)! If we could look inside my belly, here is what Blitzen looks like: Belly Picture: We were at the beach on Friday, which is when I officially hit 12 weeks, so we made due and snapped a picture before lunch. I LOVED the cute stickers Danielle had t...

Almost Deadly First Night

I have had many, many pets. Puppies and Kittens both! I know whenever you get a new pet that first night with them is the WORST. They are all up night and therefore so are you. I remember one of my cats meowed the entire first night I had him! I was reminded of this "first night curse" when we brought Kye home! The child didn't sleep all night! I was EXHAUSTED (remember I still hadn't had but maybe 2 hours of broken sleep since Tuesday night and it was Thursday night) and Zach got very frustrated because he sat up with him. The baby did not want to be laid down so Zach held him most of the night. We found out later that the reason he was so fussy is that we didn't know how to swaddle him correctly! One little thing makes all the difference as he is a pretty awesome sleeper now...but we are first time parents and we were clueless! Zach and I both HAD to get some sleep. Zach realized after this night that he requires lots of sleep to function properly and we di...

Well we tried...

It feels like the last week or so has been overwhelmingly busy for me. Between going to Jacksonville, our episode at Walmart, and working our butts off to complete the whole "to do before baby is born" list I am WORN out. Yesterday was the final day of crazy getting things done. I ran a few errands, met Ashley for lunch, came back home got the dogs, took them to the vet, then went back home, packed the hospital bag (well huge suitcase..I hate hospitals so I want to have as much of MY stuff as I can), then went back to town to meet Katie and Ashley for pedicures. It was a lot for me. I guess being this pregnant can make you get worn out pretty quickly! I don't think it helped that I met Ash for lunch a little before noon and our pedicures were at 6:30! I didn't eat between and by the time I got to the pedicure appointment I felt a migraine coming on, was so tired, and STARVING. We went to Nails By Chris next to Publix and it was awesome! They were all so sweet an...

Half-Way to the Finish Line!

So while in California I hit the 19th week of my pregnancy! It seems like it is FLYING by!!! It's really hard to believe that I'm about half-way there and I hope the next 4 1/2 months go by as quickly as the past 4 1/2 have so I can hold my baby!!! I'm so ready! Since Ashley, my usual tummy picture taker, wasn't with us I tried to do one myself but it didn't work so great! So these ones will have to work that Zach took for me! I have been suffering from very bad intense migraines since I hit the 13th week but it seems like (knock on wood) that they could be behind me! I'm feeling so much better now! Also while on the trip I woke up one morning with very bad upper back pain and my neck was killing me! We decided my size Small sports bra that I've been sleeping in will no longer cut it. I went to Victoria's Secret today and get measured and I have gone from a 34C to a 36D! I couldn't believe that! Everyone tells me that the "girls...

Lots of Unknowns

Wednesday, October 1, 2008

Supposedly any day now I should be able to feel kicking! But I am clueless as to what that kicking will feel like. Everything I read says it will be similar to little gas bubbles in my stomach but then how do I know if it's kicking or just gas? I'm pretty sure I've probably felt it but it's not as awesome as I thought it would be because I am not positive that what I feel is kicking! I wrote something about it on my facebook and Rachael sent me a link to a website that calculates when you should feel the kicking (or I think the official name is quickening or something). I was all excited about it but then it asked for the typical pregnancy calculator question: First Date of Your Last Menstrual Period. Again another big unknown! Sure my last real one was on May 14th so I type that in and it tells me my baby will be due on Feb. 18th (almost a month sooner than the due date the dr has me down for). So that must be wrong right? So I try the next time I had any signs of...

16 week dr. appt

Went to the doctor this morning just to hear the heartbeat and have a general check-up! I still weigh less than I did at my first pregnant dr appointment! I guess I was super bloated or something...isn't that strange? We got to hear our little ones heart and it's very healthy. Healthy should be between 120 and 160 and ours was 148 :) We discussed my raising heart issue and she said it is very common so I feel better abou that! I also asked about my intense migraines and she said from now on right when I feel one coming on I need to take 2 extra strength tylenols and drink a mountain dew then do it again every three hours until the headache goes away! Isn't that hilarious? She said it is sworn to work and it won't hurt the baby, she did say that my heart will probably race more during those times due to the increase in caffeine! I got answers to several of my other questions: The baby can fly anytime as long as the airline allows it and we have it suck on a pacif...

Racing Heart

Thursday, September 18, 2008

My second trimester has NOT been fun so far. I have always had bad headaches but had them under control using IBProfin (like 6 of them if needed). I really thought once I got pregnant the headaches would go away because they did for my mom! Well instead they are MORE intense and I can't take anything but Tylenol for them. I am so nervous about taking Tylenol that I wait as long as possible then only take ONE if I really need it which basically does no good at all for me. It has been awful dealing with them. Both last Tuesday and this Tuesday I had such bad ones that I literally couldn't move from the couch, I just kept my head pressed against one pillow and used my other arm to press against the other side of my face. Last Tuesday I watched 7 HOURS of tv due to the headache! I usuallly go to a women's bible study Tuesday mornings at 10:30 but I have to keep missing it :( I was looking forward to Tuesday ending and Wednesday beginning because I've never had a migrain...

Welcome to the Second Trimester...

Friday, September 5, 2008

I swear I am having some kind of backwards pregnancy or something...the whole first trimester I was FINE. Never puked, never really even ate, never felt pregnant! Now starting the 2nd trimester I was looking forward to being hungry and to having the energy everyone talks about! I was so sleepy the first trimester that I never exercised and I know I need to get off my lazy butt!!! Yesterday officially marked the start of the second trimester for me! I was very excited. I went to bed pretty early b/c I had a mild headache so I took one tylenol and hoped to sleep it off...too bad for me :( Woke up this morning with a SPLITTING migraine. I have been up since 7 and it's now noon and I have done nothing all morning except lay in front of the tv putting pressure on my poor head. That and for some reason my body decided to feel sick. My stomach has some cramping, I had horrible disgusting yellow diarrhea, and for the first time since I've been pregnant I actually went to the toliet...
