Yesterday was weigh-in day. I was pretty nervous because I didn't do as well as I probably should have on our trip! When I weighed in though I was pumped!!! I FINALLY weigh my pre-pregnancy weight!!! YAY ME!!!!!!!!! It felt awesome to be what I was last May when I got pregnant with Kye. I'm very proud of how hard I have worked to get this weight off. Weight Watchers really is awesome and I think by sticking with it I'll be able to lose the other 4 lb I need in order to be my goal weight. It has taken my about 4 months to get back to the right weight and I think that's pretty good! Especially considering that breastfeeding alone didn't help me one bit! I really didn't start to work at losing it until 8 weeks post-pardum so that means I've lost this whole 16 lbs in just 8 weeks! How awesome is that???? Being back to my pre-pregnancy weight I decided to go through my pre-pregnancy clothes! And YUP most of my pants fit!!! The size 8s are a little too big, the si...
I waaay waaay waaaaaaay over-packed for the hospital. We did this because I hate hospitals, we wanted to have entertainment in case I had a slow, long labor while in the hospital, and I didn't know for sure that I'd leave within 24 hours so I wanted to have plenty of my things to keep me company if I ended up staying longer. Seeing as I had a 8 hour labor and delivery from start to finish for the first baby, I know the next ones will probably be falling out of me when I reach the hospital doors! So from now on, I'll be packing much lighter. Here are the essentials I plan to pack next time (let's not look back and the MILLION things I packed this time haha): Our pillows: I did that this time and was glad I did. However, I put light blue pillow cases on them thinking I'd save the hassle of accidentally getting them mixed up with the hospital ones..and guess what? The hospitals are light blue! So next time I'm going for black ones :) I-Fan: A MUST!!! I ...
I heard many, many horror stories about the postpartum period. I am not saying that I have had a textbook postpartum period, but this is my experience! I'm now 15 days past the date of delivery so I feel like it's the appropriate time to cover this stuff! I'm also including things you should buy for this stage as I wish I would have bought more in advance instead of having to rely on other people to run errands and get this stuff for me! Stomach: Everything I read before having the baby said that I'd look about 6 months pregnant after he was out of me. Well, I looked more than 6 months pregnant for sure because at 6 months, you could hardly even tell I was pregnant! I think all pregnant women want to know what the post-pregnant belly looks like! Well, you know me, I don't care...so here are some pictures of the belly after the baby :) This is 2 days after delivery: This is 5 days after delivery: And 15 days after! Not too bad...when I take him on walks no...
I think I am far enough along in my pregnancy to dish out some advice. These are all the things I found (and am still finding) essential to surviving the 9 months of carrying a baby around! I hope these things help other pregnant women out and also help me remember what to bother buying when I go through this all again (in a few years...). 1. Body Pillow: I have used it every night since the first trimester and it's a lifesaver. It does take up a LOT of room in our queen bed but it is so comfortable and helps me sleep on that dreaded left side! It's tough to sleep while pregnant and a body pillow is a must have! Boppy makes a super popular one here. 2. Bella Band: Right when you find out you're pregnant buy one. I wore it all the way up until my 8th month! I was able to wear all my normal pants but just left them unbuttoned. It really does stay up! It's also great when you don't really have the full pregnant belly yet, just the "beer gut...
First I must update about my earlier blog entry this morning: One detail I forgot to leave out (blame that placenta brain!) was the reason I woke up to begin with...my panities were too tight! They were seriously digging into me hardcore. Up until now I've been wearing my size small panties (and yes, I still rock a thong all day everyday but wear the panties at night) but I realized it's time to invest in some mediums! Thankfully Victoria's Secret is still having that Semi-Annual Sale! Due to the panty issue, it does make me thing dropping has occurred! Also the movement I feel is still feet up and hiccups down (thank the Lord) but the feet movement is more a little above the belly button rather than in my ribs. I'm not going to say FOR SURE that Clover has dropped until I hear it from the ultrasound girl on Thur but I think that is what has happened! Now back to current blogging... Did you know that the hospital actually takes the baby's first picture? I wa...
Last Tuesday I had a dr. appointment, just a routine monthly check-up for the baby! I was hoping Zach would be able to be at every appointment throughout the pregnancy but he's a working machine right now and couldn't be there. No big deal as I wasn't having an actual exam... Of course I get there and the midwife I was supposed to see had called in sick so some male doctor was going to see me instead. Then when I went to pee in the cup I forgot to pee in it so I had no pee left haha I got a drizzle and just told them I couldn't go anymore...luckily it worked out ok! Lately I've been (FINALLY) feeling like I look pregnant! So I had on a cute little tight shirt with my new maternity jeans and ballet flats. When they weighed me and said I've gained about 10 pounds overall and I was excited! I mean I was 22 weeks pregnant and had only gained 10 pounds total? Pretty awesome if you ask me! I got into the dr. office and he heard the heartbeat (sounds good! it was like...
